Today we had the pleasure of a few children from The Nest pre school from Keinton coming to read and celebrate world book day with us. They read stories and we sang nursery rhymes, our residents loved this, and it’s going to be a monthly feature.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day at CHNH, we had a special lunch menu, which was throughly enjoyed. For those who have partners/wives or husbands living in the home we did an afternoon tea party in the garden room.

Today we celebrated all thing’s Welsh with it being St David’s day, with activities all having a Welsh theme. Daffodils can be seen around the home, staff and residents were encouraged to wear somthing yellow in honour of the national flower and colour. Our lunch also had a Welsh twist, as did one of our afternoon snacks, Our chefs version of Welsh Cakes, not a bad effort considering he has never cooked one before and I am not sure if he has even heard of Welsh Cakes. More photos of recent activities to follow. Our next themed day will be St Patrick’s day, and I am sure a pint or two of the black stuff will be on offer.
