Being a carer is not just a job, it's about caring and understanding.
Always remember, those you are helping are each an individual, they have a life, a history about their life, they are still a person.
Listen to what they say, learn from their experiences. Respect them for who they are, you are a guest in their home.
Kindness and respect goes a long way, helping the individual to maintain as much independence as possible is the most rewarding part of being a carer. That is why I love my work
