One of the most surprisingly effective hypnotherapy techniques I use doesn’t involve analysing, overthinking, or retelling your story.

It’s somatic awareness - learning to tune into the body and notice what you’re actually feeling, not just what you’re thinking.

This is where subconscious patterns, emotional tension, and stored stress live.

When we combine hypnotherapy with somatic healing, parts work, and nervous system regulation, we’re not just talking about change… we’re creating it from the inside out.

Re-parenting your inner child isn’t just about softness - it’s about safety.

And safety sometimes looks like kindness…
But sometimes it looks like gently interrupting the patterns that are hurting you.

Unhinged hypnotherapy techniques that actually work… and no, I’m not joking.

As a hypnotherapist and holistic practitioner, I’ve learned that the subconscious mind doesn’t respond best to pressure, seriousness, or overthinking - it responds to creativity, imagination, and play.

Giving parts of yourself names and personalities (hello Overthinking Olivia 👀), turning anxiety into a cartoon voice, or allowing your mind to communicate through symbols and random imagery might sound ridiculous…
…but these techniques gently bypass resistance, reduce anxiety, and help clients access deeper emotional healing and subconscious shifts.

This is where hypnotherapy, inner parts work, and nervous system regulation become effective - not because they’re rigid… but because they’re flexible, creative, and human.

Healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.

Three of the most important tools I use as a holistic practitioner and hypnotherapist aren’t just “props” - they are part of the therapeutic container itself.

In every Reiki session, Access Bars treatment, and hypnotherapy journey I hold, I carefully design the environment to support the nervous system in going deep, and coming back gently.

From immersive sound journeys using healing frequencies and bird song, to knowing when complete silence is more supportive… sound is always intentional.

My therapy bench is designed for deep comfort and safety - fully adjustable, deeply padded, and always layered with a grounding sheet to help clients feel secure and supported throughout their process.

And then there is the space itself: soft lighting, calm energy, and attention to how someone re-enters awareness after trance. Even small details like gently drawing the curtains can make a big difference to how regulated someone feels as they return.

Healing is never just technique - it’s environment, energy, and care combined.

This 2 minute Reiki transmission is designed to support your throat chakra (Vishuddha) and solar plexus chakra (Manipura) - the energy centres connected to your voice, truth, confidence and personal power.

What many people don’t realise is that chakras work in linked pairs.

The solar plexus governs your sense of self, identity, boundaries and inner power…

while the throat chakra is how that power is expressed into the world - through your voice, communication and truth.

When one is blocked, the other often is too.

I believe healing begins with feeling safe. In my hypnotherapy, Reiki and Access Bars sessions I use simple, gentle tools to help your nervous system settle so deep healing can begin. A few I often bring into the room: lavender eye pillows to block light and soothe with scent and weight; cosy blankets that create a cocoon of comfort; pendulums for an intuitive energy read; selenite wands to clear energy; and Access Bars charts to explain the process and help you relax.

Every session is tailored to you - paced slowly, trauma-aware, and held with warmth. Is distance Reiki really as effective as in-person Reiki healing?

This is one of the most common questions I get - and the answer might surprise you

In-person Reiki offers a deeply grounding experience.
You’re physically held in the space, able to feel the warmth of hands, subtle energy shifts, and the calming environment - which can help the body relax and receive more easily.

Distance Reiki, however, works beyond physical space.
Because Reiki is guided by intention and connection, it can be received anywhere - meaning you can experience powerful healing from the comfort of your own home.

For many people, being in their own familiar environment actually allows them to drop even deeper into relaxation and receptivity.

So it’s not about which is “better”…
it’s about what feels safest, most accessible, and most aligned for you.

I offer both in-person and distance Reiki sessions, so you can choose what works best for your energy, your lifestyle, and your healing journey.
