First session of the year and it didn't disappoint - 🌞😊🐚🪸🦀🐟🪱
What an amazing group of explorers 👌 Big thanks goes out to the older lads today ( Thomas and Thomas and big Theo) who were so patient, knowledgeable and caring....passing all that you know on to the younger ones 👍 Well Done

We worked together to find some amazing creatures - the best by far, the butterfish and the flat winkle devouring the limpet 😳 WHAT a find 👌
And seeing what a limpet actually looks like inside....another rare find.

Our session finished off with fire lighting and making smores 😍😋

Look forward to seeing more of you next week - this time at Marsden Bay 👍

So, I'm wondering why South Tyneside Council have just put out a post stating NO Easter foil to go into the recycling bin 🤔 ( I do realise this is an Aussie advert but if it scrunched up and stays scrunched, is it not recyclable)??

Tomorrow's beach school (Tues 7th April 12pm - 2pm) is being held at Whitburn Bents beach. Please meet in the car park next to Minchellas

● temperature 15 degrees (feels like 11)
● light breeze with moderate gusts

NO packed lunch required. For those with asthma, please bring inhaler medication 👍

Unfortunately the tidal tides are poor the first week of the holidays, so only one session that week 😞 🌊

🌊 Easter Beach Schools🌊

Come and join us for 2 hours of fun on the beach. Open to 4 - 12 year olds (Reception year to Y7). This is a drop off and pick up event.

Activities include a shelter build, rock pooling🦀🦐🐚🪸, beach games🤾🤸and fire lighting and toasted marshmallows 🔥🍡

✅️come dressed for the weather with a waterproof coat
✅️ wear shoes/boots with grips, that you don't mind getting wet (for rock pooling)
✅️ spare clothes, warm hat and a smile 😃

Dates
●Tuesday 7th April 12pm - 2pm
(at Whitburn Bents beach) drop off and pick up in car park next to Minchellas ice cream kiosk.

●Thursday 16th April 9:15am- 11:15am
●Friday 17th April 9:30am - 11:30am
(these 2 sessions will be at Marsden Bay) drop off and pick up point - Marsden Lea Council car park on the Coast Road NOT the GROTTO!

Cost- £13 per child, discount for 2nd sibling

It's happening on our doorsteps, we need to STOP this. I feel so strongly about this. Its not only because I work at the beach, it's about the impacts it has on ourselves, the environment and the marine life.
