Today I had the pleasure of officiating at the marriage of Amanda Lavene and Stephen. It was a wonderful occasion with their families and friends. Amanda works at the New Forest Crematorium.

Amazing how you get around doing this work! Tuesday started at St. Mary’s Extra Cemetery, Southampton, then down to Portchester Crematorium, and finally over to the New Forest Crematorium at New Milton. It’s a privilege to be able to help lovely families through difficult times with the passing of loved ones.

Beautiful blue skies today. ☀️

There is lots of road works going on locally, so if you’re heading our way make sure to leave extra time to allow for traffic.

We recently presented a cheque for £6250 to Matthew Stone, Leader of Sholing Salvation Army, from money raised through our Recycling of Metals Scheme.
Matthew expressed his gratitude “We are deeply thankful for this generous donation and the recognition from the Bereavement Services Team. This support will enable us to continue our mission of listening to the community and responding with practical help where it is needed most. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who are struggling.
For over a century, The Salvation Army has been a key stakeholder in the community, offering a wide range of services to support individuals and families facing hardship. From food provision and emergency assistance to emotional support and community activities, the church remains committed to addressing the evolving needs of the area. Its work is driven by a simple yet powerful mission: to bring hope, dignity, and practical solutions to those who need it most. “
