We've had another visit from lovely Rustyn George .
Despite being interrupted from the weekly fire alarm test (which he valiantly played through) he put on his usual entertaining show.
One end of the Ballroom lounge was in excellent voice this morning; the other end - must do better (I got that on my school report frequently)
He treated us to some new tracks that we'd not heard him do before, even a bit of Max Bygraves.
It made us chuckle when Edith requested Sweet Caroline mid-show and then his set list was all out of sorts.

It's been a while since we had ZooLab visit but it's always a real treat.
It's astounding how many residents and staff profess to be scared of creepy crawlies but then following a demonstration from the handler, become fascinated.
David was very informative and engaging and we all learned lots and were then brave enough to look and in many cases handle the creatures. You will see in the photos, some with more enthusiasm than others!

We had another visit from Jane of Peaceful Pathways and this time she was able to bring in Umber and Iris from Helpful Hounds with her.
After some relaxing mindfulness with the soundbath meditation, the two Springer Spaniels popped in to see us. Umber is 6 years old and fluffy and Iris (her daughter) is 2 years old and silky. We loved to pet and stroke them.
Afterwards they had a good run in our garden and young Iris found the greenest, slimiest puddle imaginable. Sorry Jane you probably had a stinky drive home with her!

We had a lot of fun on St Patrick's Day.
Thanks to the Magee family we had lots of bunting, flags and napkins to decorate the home. Even the dining tables were adorned with shamrocks

We love the photo booth photos of everyone.

I'm not sure how to describe Malcom. I unashamedly stole him from our sister home New Forest Nursing Home in Fritham after seeing him there.
He sings with us but not for use, he runs quizzes, really rapidly that make us chuckle, he recites poetry - giving us a choice of serious or funny (guess what we choose), he drums with us and as you can see, brought the most enormous balloons to play with, which is why most people's faces are obscured!

George and Rooney really enjoyed getting stuck in to a bit of gardening, by potting up some plants that have gone into our courtyard. No photos I'm afraid as we were up to our elbows in compost!

It has been wonderful when the sun has been shining to see residents enjoying the fresh air and colourful plants and a little bit of warmth.

We've had a few birthdays recently. Our Rooney (Michael) reached the milestone of 80 and Pat attained the great age of 99!

The small lounge and the summerhouse (in warmer weather are both available for your use if you would like a family celebration. Please let management or the Activities team know and we'd be delighted to help you make the day special.
