David is Simon’s son and plays a vital role across all our branches here at Waters & Sons.

As our main Funeral Director, he ensures every service runs smoothly, from the very first call to the final farewell, offering families guidance, care, and unwavering support every step of the way.

David treats every family as if they were his own, and we’re incredibly proud to have him as such a compassionate and dedicated part of our team.

We’re also thrilled to share that David officially passed his Diploma in Funeral Services (Dip FS) with the British Institute of Funeral Directors recently, a fantastic achievement that reflects his hard work and professionalism.

📍 Location: 106 Spring Road, Sholing, Southampton, SO19 2QB
⏰ Hours: Flexible – Full-Time or Part-Time (hours to be discussed at interview)
🚗 Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential

✨ About the Role:

As a Funeral Services Operative, you’ll play an important part in ensuring every family we care for is treated with dignity and respect. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

✅ Assisting with the dignified care and preparation of the deceased.

✅ Supporting the delivery of funerals and related services.

✅ Driving and maintaining our funeral vehicles to the highest standard.

✅ Attending removals from hospitals, hospices, or homes.

✅ Taking part in our out-of-hours rota as required.

✅ Helping with general support around the funeral home

💙 About You:
✔️ You hold a full UK driving licence (applications without one cannot be considered)
✔️ Empathetic, professional, and respectful in all situations
✔️ Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
✔️ Flexible with working hours, including some evenings or weekends
✔️ Experience in the funeral industry is welcome but not essential, full training will be provided for the right person.
