Giving & Receiving Feedback as a Leader
FREE Leadership Taster Session - Friday 4th April

At Rising Vibe, the question we are regularly asked is: “How do you give negative feedback to someone at work without upsetting or offending them?”

Our response is: You can’t control (or know) how anyone will respond to your feedback. Learning how to receive it, as well as gaining insight into reactions to feedback, is the first step.

How we respond when we are RECEIVING feedback dictates whether or not we will get feedback again. When we are GIVING feedback, being open to feedback on your feedback is critical!

Of course, we might not take on every piece of feedback that we receive, but if we KNEW that others would be receptive to our feedback (and challenge), then we would be much more likely to give it. This is why at Rising Vibe, we focus on BOTH giving and receiving feedback.

Join us for our next FREE Leadership Taster Session on Friday 4th April where we will explore our focus on feedback: Learning how to receive feedback to enable feedback to be given.

During this 1.5 hour session we will discuss:

* How giving and receiving feedback supports the creation of psychological safety
* How to access your current feedback mindset and identify resistance and/or engagement
* How social pain impacts our capability and confidence when giving/receiving feedback
* How to alleviate social threat to enable action
* How our emotional bank account impacts how we give/receive feedback and our intention behind it

Emotional Intelligence In Leadership.
Find out why every leader must have it, in this FREE Webinar from Rising Vibe.

Emotional Intelligence has been a desirable leadership characteristic for a long time now, and so it should be.

But, How do you learn it? Can you learn it? What is the impact of leading without it?

On Friday 27th September at 12pm, Rising Vibe will explore these questions and the concept of emotional intelligence, in a FREE 1hr webinar.

At Rising Vibe we believe that every leader must have emotional intelligence first and foremost and during this session we will look at:

• How self-awareness is king when it comes to emotional intelligence

• The 5 levels of self-awareness and the impact of each when leading others

• How emotional reactions can give us insight into our emotional intelligence

Why do men struggle with emotions in the workplace?

In 2019 we launched our Calling Out The Men programmes which focus on the ongoing conversation to highlight the need for emotional support for men in the workplace.

This weekend sees the return of International Men's Day on Sunday 19th November. Rising Vibe have always been big supporters of this and the work of Movember throughout this month.

We wanted to remind you of Rising Vibe's Calling Out The Men and, importantly, highlight the need to keep men's mental health on the radar ongoing, outside of awareness days and campaigns. The conversation needs to become part of every day workplace culture.

Check out our blog and launch film from Oct 2019 below.

Two weeks ago Rising Vibe attended the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition at the Birmingham NEC. And what a great couple of days it was getting to chat to people face-to-face!
We were thrilled with the turnout (and with the great feedback!) for our Founder, Lou Carter’s two seminar sessions:

1. Ignorance is not bliss. How to create allyship in your organisation for a truly inclusive culture - self-reflection and accountability doesn’t cost a thing!
2. There is nothing permanent except change. How to transform your organisational culture - we must impact at an individual level to enable collective results.

In light of the fabulous feedback we received at the event, we have decided to run our Allyship session again, online, as part of our FREE Rising Vibe Leadership Taster Session series – see below for more information on how to attend!

This is the second of two seminars, our Founder Lou Carter will be holding at The World of Learning Conference & Exhibition, at the Birmingham NEC next week!

The Exhibition, being held across Tuesday 10th – Wednesday 11th October is FREE to attend, so if you’d like to come and see Lou’s talks in person, register your place here: https://www.learnevents.com/

We’d love to see you there!

Wednesday 11th October – 12:45 – 13:15 - Seminar Theatre 2

There is nothing permanent except change. How to transform your organisational culture.

Lack of clarity, lack of motivation, lack of belief and lack of psychological safety lead to a culture of inaction and blame. Only by supporting and challenging your organisation at an individual level can you impact a collective change. We will explore coaching questions, role modelling and an abundance of excuses to help you unlock the changes you want to make in your workplace.

Our Story

Hello, we're Rising Vibe. We’re Culture Consultants, using emotion to drive cultural change.

Traditionally, you might call us a ‘people development’ or ‘change management’ business. But we don’t do traditional. We work with our clients to create a culture that is Social Pain Free.

We can trace every cultural challenge within a business back to social pain. When the people within a business are in social pain they feel isolated. Rejected. Unheard. Misunderstood. Judged. Blamed. Undervalued. Disconnected. And it’s having a huge impact on business performance.

Social pain is cited in every piece of research on work-related stress. It’s a huge driver for absenteeism, presenteeism and leavism. Put simply, social pain affects your bottom line. Looking after the wellbeing of the people within your business isn’t pink and fluffy. It’s fundamental to business success.
