What actually happens during a Reiki attunement?

During Reiki training, attunements are gentle energetic processes that open your channel to universal energy.

They allow Reiki energy to flow through you - supporting both your own healing and your ability to share Reiki with others.

Many people describe the experience as deeply peaceful, grounding and quietly transformative.

At Art of Wellbeing, we’re honoured to work alongside so many incredible women on their healing journeys — holding space for growth, connection and transformation.

This International Women’s Day also marks the beginning of something new for us… the birth of our Reiki Finishing School, a space created to support Reiki practitioners in deepening their practice, confidence and connection to their work.

While Reiki was formalised in Japan in the early 1900s, the understanding that energy flows through the body has existed across ancient healing traditions for thousands of years.

Hi, I’m Kim 🤍,
the other half of the Art of Wellbeing.

I’ve always felt drawn to supporting people in calm, practical ways - even while working in a very structured corporate world, I found myself studying holistic therapies in the evenings and offering gentle treatments to friends and family.

Over time it became clear this wasn’t just an interest, it was where I was meant to be.

My work now focuses on helping people gently release fear, tension and emotional weight they’ve been carrying - often for years - so they can reconnect with clarity, confidence and a sense of ease in themselves again.

I believe healing doesn’t need to feel intense or overwhelming, it can be quiet, steady and supportive.

Each session is tailored to you, whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, exhausted or simply need space to reset.

Hi, I’m Kelly 🤍
Co-founder of Art of Wellbeing.

My path into this work didn’t begin with qualifications - it began with my own burnout, emotional exhaustion and feeling disconnected from myself.

I tried to push through for years, and although some support helped, I still felt like something deeper hadn’t shifted.

When I began working with the body and energy - learning to release stored emotion, soften self-judgement and reconnect with myself - everything changed.

That’s what shaped how I now support others.

My sessions are gentle, intuitive and tailored to you.
Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, or simply feel out of balance, you don’t need to arrive with the right words - just as you are.

I’m especially passionate about helping people who feel nervous in clinical spaces, including those with dental fears, rebuild a sense of safety and trust again.
