VOLUNTEERS PRAISED AFTER LATEST SUCCESSFUL LITTER PICK.

VOLUNTEERS have been praised following another successful community litter pick event in south Essex.
Members of Rochford District Litter Picks took part in the latest clean-up efforts across the Rochford district.
Volunteers were active in a number of areas, including Golden Cross, Rochford, Hockley and Hawkwell.
Around 90 bottles and cans were collected during the litter picks, with much of the waste suitable for recycling.
Unusual items found included coins, a hat, a jug, a screwdriver, an electrical item, a comb and a large number of dog waste bags.
The group also reported overflowing recycling bins at Hockley car park and cleared loose quiz materials from the area.
A spokesman for Rochford District Litter Picks said:
"Another great turnout by our volunteers.
"Next week we will meet behind Hockley Library near the recycling bins. All welcome to join us.”

Well done everyone πŸ™Œ

The work hasn’t stopped since the newspaper reported our collection on Monday, as a volunteer kindly continued along Ashingdon Road from Greensward school and along Greenward Lane to the surgery, stopping to clear a couple of grotty lay-bys along the way.
We managed to find another 2 full sacks collected. One collected by Norse (thank you) and the remainder separated for recycling. 60 cans/bottles recycled.

Well done and thank you πŸ™

The rest of us (we still had a hardcore group) who were available to cover Hawkwell, Rochford and Hockley this morning. We all met up together at Park Gardens, carpark in Hawkwell for our usual chin wag.
Thanks to RDC for arranging for all the rubbish to be collected.πŸ‘

Unusual finds included a pair of trousers, a child’s car seat, a scooter πŸ›΄ 23 nitrous oxide canisters and vapes that were recycled.
All bottles cans and cardboard were recycled at the bins provided πŸ™

We were absolutely appalled to see the surrounding area of the new Clements Hall Skatepark facility surrounded by rubbish!
I have emailed the council requesting a rubbish bin be placed there - come on , this is basic stuff!
