Did you know that NHS sight tests are free for children and available from opticians?

So next time you walk past or your local opticians, call in and make an appointment for your child.

We especially recommend doing this during the term before your child starts school or if you have any concerns such as:
👀Eyes not pointing in the same direction (over 3 months old)
👀Complaining of headaches or eye strain
👀Problems reading
👀Problems with hand-eye coordination
👀Regularly rubbing their eyes

Did you know that health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives who are here to help your baby thrive to their full potential?

We support parents and carers during their baby's first 5 years- a critical period of brain development that can affect the rest of their lives.

We monitor growth and development and gently guide you about sleep, safety, oral health, and building a positive relationship with solid food. We observe your special bond and play and support you if you are struggling- with this or anything else.

We work closely with other services to ensure early intervention if needed, and we're here for you if you need evidence-based guidance or support.

There's so much to learn and navigate when you become a parent, and we're proud to support you on your parenting journey.

Mini Marvels is a monthly support group run by the Health Visiting team for parents with a baby in, or who has spent time in, the neonatal unit.

They meet on the 1st Friday of each month. Next month is Christmas theme!
