Sky’s Battle against Breast Cancer

So it’s been a while since my last update… almost 3 months have passed, and I’m due for another scan at the beginning of June.

I’ve spent a lot of this past month in hospital, as I needed to have a port-a-cath fitted because accessing my veins has become increasingly difficult.

I’ve also had a liver biopsy and am currently waiting for the results.

I just want to personally thank everyone who has shared our fundraiser over the last month. A special thank you to my beautiful best friend Codey Gill-Broadhead for hosting a quiz night in honour of me and my babies, and to everyone who came along and showed their support it means more than I can even comprehend.

Sky has been coping as best as she can over the last couple of weeks, showing so much strength through it all. She’s really looking forward to spending some special time with the children this Easter.

Tomorrow, she will be going into hospital to have a procedure to fit a port in her chest to support any further treatments or medication.

Some days feel heavier than others for Sky, and this week she hasn’t been feeling her best. It’s been difficult not knowing what lies ahead, but she’s holding onto hope.

She’s really hoping to enjoy the Easter break with her children and create some normal, happy memories together 🐣💛

After speaking with my oncologist and reviewing my scan results from the weekend, I have received some clear news.

There were concerns that the cancer may have spread to my brain, but the latest scans have confirmed that my brain is clear. This news have given me a huge amount of relief. 🙏🏻

However, the scans have also shown more progression, there are currently three large tumours in my liver, one of them a significant size and lots of smaller ones that’s are still causing my tumour markers to continue to climb. 🥺

I am currently looking into treatment options. Accessing certain drugs that are not available through the NHS will depend on private funding. 🏥

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has shared my JustGiving page, donated, or sent messages of support.

Your continued help in sharing this means a great deal to me and my family.

I am determined to explore every possible option.

This Mother’s Day is heartbreakingly different for Sky.

As many of you know, Sky has of two beautiful children, Elvana and Albie and she is bravely battling stage four metastatic breast cancer.

Today, while many families are celebrating together, Sky has spent Mother’s Day in Southend Hospital undergoing two urgent MRI scans. She is fighting desperately for her life — because all she wants is more time to be here, to love her children, and to watch them grow up.

The treatment that could give Sky more time with her children is not available to her on the NHS as she does not meet the criteria. However, she has the chance to access private treatment at the Wellesley Hospital — but she needs our help to get there.

This Mother’s Day, Sky is simply praying for time.

Update on Sky 💗

Sky had an urgent CT scan today as part of her ongoing breast cancer battle as we have recently received the news that there has been progression with the disease.

Tomorrow she faces two more MRI scans — for her brain and liver. Heartbreakingly, this all falls on Mother’s Day… a day she should be spending making memories with her two beautiful children, not sitting in hospital waiting rooms.

It’s an incredibly tough and emotional time for Sky and her family.

Please keep her in your thoughts and send strength, love and prayers as she gets through these next important tests. 💕
