For me it always feels like a time to take stock of where I am heading, after letting things slide a little/be 'brushed under the carpet' over the summer😊 I have counselling slots currently free for both evenings and weekends, face to face in Southwell or online, so please do get in touch / pass on my details if this could be of interest....

Helen Cupidon is a Counsellor and Yoga teacher in Southwell, near Newark & Nottingham. Helen offers online and face to face individual and relationship counselling.

I am such a massive fan of Rachel Hollis, and am constantly dipping back into her books on my Audible account for inspiration. Loved finding this in my Facebook feed this morning, it was just what I needed as I started to set my intentions for the day ahead and whilst the rest of my household slept on😊 For myself I am adding in to the mix (after passing this quote on a quest for coffee, gifted by a dear friend, and which holds pride of place in our kitchen), Mother Teresa's words, "do small things with great love" ā¤ļø

"Small change fosters bigger change. People need to become aware of any positive changes that are happening. Like tipping the first domino, one small change leads to another and so on until the solution momentum outweighs the problem momentum.
As each individual is unique, so too is every solution."šŸ’•

My 'let me' era is here! I have just finished listening to the 'Let Them Theory' by Mel Robbins on Audible. For me, this has been an amazing tool in terms of better understanding the stress I have unknowingly been creating for myself, it's impact on my focus/wellbeing and what I can do to change this😊

As someone who, throughout the course of their life, has had a rather a large amount of Valentineless Valentines days :), this article, by Sam Goldstein Ph.D., on Psychology Today was both an informative and inspirational read. "Love is not just romantic. Society often places undue emphasis on romantic love, but love manifests in many ways. Family love is foundational—parents, siblings, and extended family members are usually our first experiences of love. Friendship is another vital form of love, providing companionship, support, and joy. " Meaning too of course that all of our close relationships require care, attention and maintenance.

Valentine’s Day is more than romance; it celebrates love in all forms. Its history blends ancient and Christian traditions, emphasizing connection and appreciation.

Already February so soon! I happened upon this article by Esther Perel and Mary Alice Miller just when I was feeling in need of something to keep my new years' good intentions on track :} The below was particularly helpful for me:
Hope comes from acknowledging that the darkness and the light are intertwined and, in most cases, inseparable. Practicing hope requires observing life’s dualities: the end and the beginning are both possible and they’re often happening simultaneously.

Where does hope come from—and how do we practice it?ā€ Read more on four practices for hopefulness in the new year, and beyond.
