Look at this for a Before and After! 🦶

This patient first visited me in December with a cluster of verrucas on the side of her big toe, which appeared highly inflamed. Through a tailored treatment plan and diligent at-home care, the improvement has been remarkable.

While there are various methods for treating verrucas, and complete resolution can never be guaranteed, I am committed to achieving the best possible outcomes. In this case, the patient is delighted with the results!

A satisfying corn removal procedure this afternoon. The patient had been experiencing discomfort due to corns caused by wearing inexpensive footwear whilst walking her dog. Prolonged neglect of the pain had exacerbated the issue. The removal process was completed efficiently in just five minutes and was entirely pain free, leaving the patient feeling much more comfortable. Do you have a corn that needs removing!? 🦶

🦶 A callus is a thickened and hardened area of skin that forms due to repeated friction, pressure, or irritation. On the sole of the foot, hard skin often develops in areas where there is excessive pressure or rubbing, such as the ball of the foot, the heel, or under the big toe. Do you suffer with this?! Treating verrucas is often a gradual process, and while I cannot guarantee complete resolution, I am committed to achieving the best possible outcome for my patients. In this case, a patient presented with a large, stubborn cluster of verrucas and was eager for a solution.

I began by carefully paring down the area with a blade to remove the thickened skin, followed by the application of Verrutop, a highly effective treatment. The patient also followed my recommendation to use surgical spirit at home to dry out the affected area (pic 3), which then makes it easier to address the dead skin during subsequent treatments.

After two weeks, I applied another vial of Verrutop, and after three treatments, the results are already showing significant improvement. While there’s still progress to be made, the improvement is encouraging. Stay tuned to see if we can achieve complete resolution! I really hope we can! 🦶

I’d like to kindly remind patients that if you prefer a silent appointment after we’ve discussed your treatment plan, that is absolutely fine. Whilst I do enjoy chatting during appointments, I completely understand and respect your reasons for preferring not to, or listening to music of your choice.

Some patients find conversation during treatment tiring, others may feel socially uncomfortable, and some simply wish to enjoy 30/40 minutes of quiet. Whatever your preference, your comfort is my priority, and your choice will always be respected 🦶
