“Once I feel more confident, I’ll do it.”
“Once life feels better, I’ll start.”
These are things I hear often.

But here’s my take on this: confidence doesn’t come before action — it comes from action.

Confidence is built in the moments you show up for yourself, even when you’re unsure.
Even when it feels uncomfortable.
Even when fear is loud.
Every small step you take begins to challenge those negative beliefs about yourself.
Every time you follow through, you build trust in who you are.

And slowly, things start to shift.
It’s not a straight line. It takes patience. It takes resilience.
But the process itself is where the healing happens.
Because real confidence isn’t about getting everything right —
it’s about trusting that whatever happens, you’ll be okay.

Therapy and self-growth do take effort.
But you don’t have to carry it all on your own.
Finding the right support can make that journey feel lighter.

I don’t always practice what I preach
Instagram can portray an image of having it all together, but there’s a real person behind every account.

The reality is:
- I don’t rest when I need
- I take on too much
- I compare myself to others
- I let my thoughts spiral sometimes
- I get angry and frustrated when things don’t go my way

One of the things I talk about in therapy is letting go of striving for healing or perfection, but learning to accept all parts of ourselves. That doesn’t mean we don’t have to change some things about ourselves, but we can do so with compassion and patience.

Things I learnt from my clients as a therapist:

🌱We have an immense amount of Resilience. I’ve witnessed many stories of survival and strength- it is both humbling and inspiring.
🌱Blaming doesn’t help. When we stop blaming ourselves or people in our lives for our suffering, we take responsibility for our lives and choose how we want to show up.
🌱 You can’t change what’s happened to you, but you can change the meaning you give it. People tend to make a shift when they choose to write their own story going forward.
🌱 It’s not what happens to you, but how you perceive it, and who was there for you. Facts in themselves aren’t always harmful, but isolation and the stories we create around them can be
🌱 We’re not meant to do it alone. Yes, we have to do our own individual work, but the support of others makes a huge difference in healing
🌱 We heal for us and for those around us. When people being to feel better, they have a desire to do good, to being light to others. Therapy isn’t selfish, it allows us to be better people in this world.
🌱 Suffering doesn’t have hierarchy. The worst thing thats happened to you is the worst thing that’s happened. Comparing yourself to others leads to more suffering.
🌱 Time and patience are necessary to heal. Recovery from trauma, abuse, loss, or chronic conditions, can’t be rushed. It’s a humbling process through self compassion.

How did I go from working as a chiropractor to Counselling?

- I seemed to be getting the type of patient with chronic pain linked to trauma and unprocessed emotions. I felt that more needed to be done for those patients on top of manual therapy.

- Seeing 20-30 patients a day was a hard- I wanted to learn to deal with the emotional side of working with people.

- The workload led me to experience my own mental health issues, regressing to old unhealthy coping mechanism and spiraling into depression. I became more curious about mental health by having to look after my own.

- I trained as a Yoga teacher and the understanding of the mind-body clicked for me then. Years of practicing Yoga deepened the idea that mind and body aren’t separate.

I offer integrative Counselling and psychotherapy because I believe that people need to be seen as a whole, and that no one size fits all.
Integrative therapy uses a range of modalities, adapting each session to suit your own needs.

There’s a lot going on in the world right now. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or down, you’re not alone.

The reality is: our brain isn’t meant to hold such an amount of information about what’s happening in every corner of the world.
On top of that, distinguishing between what’s true and what isn’t makes us feel even more confused and powerless.

My focus is on staying grounded so I can be the best in my work and for my family. I’m not saying this is the right way for everyone, but keeping a regulated and calm nervous system is essential for me to show up in the world in the right way.

Here’s a few things I do to keep calm in what seems like an insane world:

🌎 I choose what and when I consume media and news. I don’t let myself get bombarded with information, as our brain doesn’t have the capacity to deal with that- I try to make it a conscious choice.

🌎 I practice staying present in my current experience - grounding practices like breath work, meditation, being mindful when I work or play with my son, help me gain perspective.

🌎 I exercise or move my body every day. Fear can paralyze us, and taking action through movement helps us process emotions more than words allow.

🌎 I focus on what I can control + accept what I can’t control. This is a hard one, but I focus on showing up with kindness in my little world, treating family, friends and neighbors with compassion (I’m human so I am not always the best at this!).

🌎 I do things that bring me joy. It’s easy to get dragged down by the negative sides of being human, but we’re also capable of joy, laughter and play.

🌎 I strive to see the good in people. Humans are flawed, but incredible beings. My job as a therapist, and my natural inclination, helps me see the potential for good in people.

Why do I offer deep tissue massage and acupuncture treatments?

Here’s the origin story.

15 years ago, I moved from Italy 🇮🇹 to the UK 🇬🇧 to get a degree in chiropractic, and worked as a Chiropractor for 10 years.
I had to stop working when I was just too pregnant to offer my usual standard of care. 💁🏻‍♀️

Although I had a complicated relationship with the chiropractic profession, I always loved working with people’s bodies, and that background informs the mind-body approach I take in my work.

After Ozzy was born, I went back to working only as a counsellor, but I missed some aspects of my other profession.

Offering deep tissue massage and acupuncture gives me a chance to slowly go back to my roots, working in a different way, to help people feel more comfortable and at ease in their bodies.

I am figuring out how and if I want to go back to working as a chiropractor- for now, I am enjoying the slow pace of this work.

This time of year there is a lot of emphasis on mental health, “January blues”, and how to look after our emotional well-being

Each of us is different and has a unique history and needs. It’s important to find what works for you, and sometimes that involves a little trial and error.

I’m sharing a few of the things that help me reset and calm an overactive mind:
- Socializing
- Exercise
- Nature
- Cold plunges
- Music
- Therapy
- Focusing outwards: on others, on projects, housework

How did I come up with the idea of using walk and talk therapy?

☀️I noticed how starved most people are of contact with nature and simple exercise.
☀️I observed how some clients, especially the ones who experienced trauma, looked uncomfortable and fidgety sitting face to face sessions in the office
☀️ I reflected on how good it felt to walk with a friends (and dogs!) discussing life’s ups and downs

I decided to offer the option for walk and talk therapy because…

🍃Nature has the power to boost our mood, increase our sense of connection to self and others, widen our perspective
🍃 Exercise and psychotherapy together improve mood, reduce anxiety and depression symptoms, help with relational trauma
🍃Mind body connection increases
🍃People report feeling more clarity of thoughts and ease of talking
🍃Walking side by side promotes a more equal relationship between client and therapist- less intimidating than therapy indoors

Full disclosure: Manuel the French bulldog doesn’t take part in therapy sessions unless you request it 😉 But walks with him have been my main inspiration.
