A little hit of happiness today ✨

I caught myself doing it again… scanning for what’s not quite right, what needs sorted, what’s slightly off.

So I flipped it.

Coffee tasted amazing.
Sun showed up.
A quiet moment I actually noticed.

Nothing changed… but everything felt different.

Tell me your little hit today 👇

A little find whilst travelling… ✨
I dropped into Inflo Pilates in Newbury and honestly, it was brilliant. Abi was excellent, the kind of instructor who knows exactly how to push you just enough… and yes, “jelly legs” was absolutely achieved 😆
The studio itself is beautiful, really welcoming and one of those spaces you instantly feel comfortable in.
Thank you so much for having me, and happy first birthday in your new location 🥂
If you’re local to Newbury, this is definitely one to try.

Good morning from beautiful Masham ☕️🌿
Coffee in hand, out for a wander, completely barefaced… and yes, we’ve got the full look this morning eye bags, sleep creases, the lot 😅
Turns out when you don’t have your silk pillowcase on tour with you, it really shows…
perhaps that needs to start making the packing list alongside everything else I lug around 👀
There was also a rather bold flying guest at the start of this video that nearly took me out… but we gathered ourselves and carried on.
Because real life isn’t filtered.
It’s fresh air, strong coffee, unexpected interruptions and just getting on with it anyway.
Little hits of happiness… in all their unpolished glory.

Midweek Pilates… in the morning… feels a little bit cheeky if I’m honest 👀
But this is exactly why I do what I do.
Building a life and a business that lets me move my body, clear my head, and still get everything done.
This morning it was Pilates, a good stretch, a few deep breaths… and now I’m ready to take on the day properly.
Entrepreneur life isn’t always easy, but these little pockets of freedom… they’re everything 🤍

Day 20 of my cycle… welcome to the luteal phase where my hormones start doing their little dance and suddenly everything is mildly irritating.
So here I am.
On the vibration plate.
Cup of tea in hand.
Attempting to regulate my nervous system before Pilates and hoping I don’t accidentally tell anyone exactly what I think.
The hormone geek in me knows what’s going on… the luteal phase shift is real.
If you’re also in your slightly-intolerant, tea-required era today, just know you are not alone.

A little HRT update from me this Friday afternoon.
At the end of January I started noticing some anxious feelings that were really out of the norm for me. Because I’m a bit of a hormone geek I started keeping a little diary and worked back and forth with my clinician at BioID to make a few temporary tweaks to my routine.
Since then I’ve had two reviews and I’m really happy to say I haven’t recorded any unusual anxiety since.
My routine has now settled into something new:
• DHEA 10mg daily
• Testosterone cream
• Progesterone 100mg every night
Previously I was cycling progesterone on days 8–18 of my own cycle, so this is a change that seems to be suiting me much better at the moment.
Just a reminder that this journey is very personal. What works for me may not be right for someone else, but if any of this resonates with you I would really encourage speaking with a hormone specialist.
And to the many women I read about every day who struggle to get their regular NHS doctor on board with HRT… I really do feel for you. We should all have access to the support and treatment we need.
If you would like more information just comment one of these words and I will point you in the right direction:
HRT – details about the private clinic I use
BOOKS – the hormone books I regularly go back to
LITTLE HITS – podcasts, experts and people I’ve learned from on this journey

Cold grass under my feet this morning and it was properly freezing. 🌿☕
A busy week ahead. Conference management, deli things, emails, meetings and the usual juggling that comes with running businesses.
But before all of that starts I take five minutes outside with a coffee. Just standing on the grass.
It sounds simple but it resets everything.
Feet cold.
Mind clear.
Coffee strong.
Right then Monday… let’s see what you’ve got.
Does anyone else do this barefoot grounding thing or am I the only one standing in the garden like this on a Monday morning?

What a way to spend International Women’s Day.
This morning I joined over 250 incredible women at the beautiful Old Course Hotel in St Andrews for the Bob & Blether International Women’s Day gathering in support of Dundee Women’s Aid.
And what a morning it was.
Pilates.
Meditation.
Singing.
Dancing.
Learning about hormones.
Talking about stress and how we carry it.
A few tears.
A lot of laughter.
Most importantly, being surrounded by women who show up for each other. Some I met today, many I’m lucky enough to call good friends.
Spaces like this remind you how powerful it is when women come together. Not perfectly. Just honestly.
Thank you to everyone who organised such a special morning and to Dundee Women’s Aid for the work they do every single day supporting women who need it most.
Today was full of connection, honesty and a lot of heart.
Happy International Women’s Day. 💛

✨ International Women’s Day ✨
Some of the best things in life start because a woman believes in you.
When the pandemic hit in 2020 my events business disappeared almost overnight and I was left wondering what on earth might come next.
My friend Cheryle already had her own greengrocer and instead of seeing competition she saw possibility. She suggested I open a shop too.
The funny thing is we live only about seven miles apart. But there was no hesitation, no guarding of ideas, just encouragement and a genuine belief there was room for us both.
So Ed and I took the leap and opened a little greengrocer.
Nearly five years later that small shop has grown into Fig & Fromage, a cafĂŠ and delicatessen in Newport-on-Tay. Along the way we also took on Provender Brown in Perth and, happily, the events business found its feet again too.
And Cheryle and I are still doing what we always did… sharing ideas, cheering each other on and occasionally sharing a bottle of wine.
To me that’s what International Women’s Day is all about.
Women supporting women. Always.
💛

A little walk in sunny St Andrews today ☀️
I realised I hadn’t done a piece to camera for ages, but days like this felt like the perfect excuse to get outside and soak up some sunshine.
Life has been busy lately with shops, events and all the usual juggling, so this was a good reminder that sometimes the best reset is just a walk and a bit of fresh air.
Nothing complicated, just one of those little hits of happiness.
If the sun is out where you are today, take ten minutes and enjoy it.

Little Hits of Happiness

Hi readers, I have set up this site with the intention to work my way through the 28 Magic Steps in Rhonda Byrne's brilliant follow on book to The Secret called The Magic, which takes you through 28 days of gratitude. I would love to invite you all to join me and start the 28 days together to see what we really can manifest. The power of many minds can always be more magical than the power of one. Though I do believe we are all in charge of our own future I also believe that having great people to share it with is super important.

So what is the plan ... I will blog every day for 28 days, following The Magic practise by Rhonda Byrne. Basically it is like allowing everyone to read my diary ... er no, thank you. So you can probably imagine I will certainly share what I am writing but in my journal I will probably jot a few more thoughts that are more private. You can do the same if you are sharing it online but if you are journalling at home then just write what ever feels good to you.
