Today we came together for our end-of-year Christmas meal — a wonderful moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible work of our central and senior leadership team.

This special group has had a truly fantastic year. Their commitment to providing exceptional support never wavers. They lead our key player teams with passion, steadiness, and a deep sense of purpose. They are the people who keep the wheels turning across the business, day in and day out.

As we reach this time of year, it’s natural to look back on what we’ve achieved and ahead to what’s still to come. And what a year it’s been…

These numbers are mind-blowing — not just for their scale, but because behind every single hour is a person who needed us, and a team who showed up with compassion and professionalism.

A heartfelt thank you to all our teams across the business. Without you, there simply is no Home Instead. We are proud of every one of you and incredibly grateful for the extraordinary work you do.

I couldn’t be prouder to share that Home Instead Cambridge has been awarded Franchise of the Year at this year’s conference — a truly special achievement for a team that has come such a long way in a short time.

When we took over the Cambridge franchise in January 2023, it was clear that the culture and atmosphere were very different to what we were used to. We needed to reset the whole business — including relocating to a central, prominent Cambridge office — and rebuild the culture from the ground up.

The introduction of Caroline Groves to the team was absolutely instrumental in that turnaround. Caroline worked tirelessly alongside Caz (reliability and respect award winner) to embed our values, shift the culture, and attract some incredible new people to the team. The results speak for themselves:
✅ One of the fastest-growing offices in the network
✅ Best-improved PEAQ survey results
✅ Full compliance with National Office standards
But most importantly — the Cambridge office now feels like one of our Norfolk branches: positive, caring, and full of energy.

Caroline has truly worked wonders, and it’s been brilliant to see her move into her new Group Operations Manager role. She has a unique ability to stay upbeat and find positives even on the toughest days — her “Win the Week” initiative and infectious enthusiasm have become part of our DNA.

We’re incredibly lucky to have her. 💜

Final preparations are underway – speeches being fine-tuned, PowerPoints polished, and certificates printed. It’s just a few weeks until our annual group conference, and excitement is building.

One of the highlights every year is celebrating our Care Professional of the Year. This year, we’ve been filming all five incredible contenders – each with their own powerful story of care, compassion, and dedication. I can’t wait to see them celebrated on the big screen at conference.

Looking back, last year’s winner Sue set such a high bar. Have you ever seen a more naturally caring person? Her compassion shines through in everything she does, and her story continues to inspire us all.

Our care manager Caroline took a leap of faith on Sunday when she did a skydive for Tapping House Hospice, she describes it as 'the most terrifying but most amazing experience', she would absolutely do it again! 🪂
