Iโ€™ve spent a long time navigating the 'High-Stakes' World of residential childcare, and if thereโ€™s one thing Iโ€™ve learned, itโ€™s this: You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you certainly canโ€™t lead others through the storm if you haven't found your own sanctuary first.

Lately, Iโ€™ve been trading the noise for the nature. Iโ€™m currently completing my level 2 in counselling and using my MHFA and Forest Practitioner knowledge to build something Iโ€™m incredibly proud of: Canopy & Calm

This isn't just about a walk in the woods. Itโ€™s about 'The Understory Exchange'โ€”finding that quiet, sheltered space beneath the trees where the nervous system can finally reset, the cortisol can drain, and the roots can grow deep again. ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿชป๐Ÿƒ

Whether youโ€™re a fellow 'High Lady' (Currently living in my book fantasy Worlds!) battling your own monsters or someone just looking for a clearing in the woods, Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re here.

Hello all!
I apologise for not being very active on these accounts recently!
Going forward, now that Spring is just around the corner, I will start planning some events and get Canopy and Calm fully up and running!
Not only am I fully qualified in Forest Therapy and Yoga, but I am now a level 3 trained Mental Health First Aider. I am also currently working towards my level 2 in Counselling Skills as I want to offer, not only group forest therapy sessions, but 121 appointments too.

Thought I should do a bit of an intro post!

So those of you who don't know me, Hello, I'm Amy, 36 years young & currently located in St Neots - however I do roam, a lot, and I am happy to travel to run sessions (within reason!)

I've always been very passionate about nature and the outdoors and previously ran 'Girly Green Gym' where I led outdoor bootcamps for females with the aim to get people working out in beautiful surroundings rather than stuffy, busy gyms! - I did this in New Zealand, and Cornwall.

I am also big into mountains, and hiking, and have carried out treks all over the World, including the Jordan desert, the Sri Lankan rainforest, Mount Kilimanjaro and numerous places throughout the UK, and Europe.
My next big adventure is the Himalayas in February 2026.

All outdoors and nature aside I have previously served in the RAF as one of the only female firefighters, been a successful facial imaging officer in the police force, mentored children in schools and additional provisions, and currently work with children in residential care. Alongside this I volunteer for the RSPB as a youth group leader for Wildlife Explorers.

When I'm not working, I enjoy walking, forest bathing, going to the gym, yoga, meditation, drawing and painting, reading, watching TV and sipping on lots of decaf coffee!
