This is the clarification that has long been needed.

All those seeking prescription only treatments aka wrinkle relaxing injections (Botox) etc MUST legally have a face to face IN PERSON consultation with a prescriber. This includes an initial consultation AND ALL SUBSEQUENT TREATMENTS.

This DOES NOT mean a video consult!

The likes of FACES app etc who have continually flouted this allowing beauty therapists, aesthetic practitioners and frankly anyone else to obtain and inject such prescription medicines will no longer be able to do so. Patient safety has to be the priority here.

I would urge anyone seeking aesthetic injectable treatments such as wrinkle relaxing and facial fillers to only visit medically qualified professionals with a prescribing qualification. After all, the rest of the world abides by this.

When will this utter madness stop?

We have been lobbying the government for YEARS, warning this has been a ticking time bomb, and sadly will continue.

We are the only country who allows non-medical professionals to administer non surgical cosmetic treatments.

It has to stop!

Botox injections, fat loss injectables aka ‘skinny jab’ (awful name), vitamin B12 …. The list goes on. These are all PRESCRIPTION ONLY MEDICINES!

Absolute madness.
