Catch up flu clinics are now running for children who have missed their school vaccine. You can call Intrahealth on 03333583397 to arrange an appointment.

Alternatively, walk-in flu vaccination clinics will be running across our area for school-age children (reception to year 11) who have missed their school vaccine, and for children aged 2–3, giving parents the opportunity to get all the kids vaccinated in one visit.

There’s no need to book, just find your nearest pop-clinic, opening dates and times at the following link https://gmintegratedcare.org.uk/childrens-catch-up-flu-vaccination-clinics/

💙 Day 7 – Thank you for taking action!

👏 As World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2025 comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined the movement to Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.

🌍 Over the past week, we’ve learned that:
• Every choice matters — from handwashing to responsible antibiotic use.
• AMR affects us all — humans, animals, and the environment.
• Together, our small actions add up to big impact.

💬 The week may be ending, but our responsibility continues. Keep talking, keep learning, and keep acting — because protecting antimicrobials means protecting lives.

💪 Let’s make every week an AMR awareness week!

🌿 Day 6 – One Health: Protecting humans, animals & the environment

🐾 AMR doesn’t stop at people. It spreads through animals, food, and the environment — that’s why the One Health approach matters.

💚 What you can do today:
• Choose responsibly produced food (antibiotic-free when possible).
• Dispose of unused medicines safely — never flush or throw them away.
• Support policies that protect our water, soil, and ecosystems.

Together, we can keep our world — and its future generations — safe from superbugs. 🌍

🧠 Day 5 – Knowledge is power: Learn and share

📖 The more we understand antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the better we can fight it.

Resistance develops naturally, but misuse and overuse of antimicrobials speed it up — in humans, animals, and even crops.

💬 Today’s challenge:
• Take 5 minutes to learn one new fact about AMR.
• Share it with a friend, family member, or colleague.
• Encourage them to do the same.

Small conversations can create a big wave of awareness 🌊.

🌍 Day 4 – United for change: Act now for our shared future.

The theme reminds us that AMR isn’t a distant risk—it’s happening now. Global action needs local commitment.

👥 How you can engage:
• Share this message in your workplace, school or community group.
• Host a short discussion about how your setting (home/work/organisation) can support responsible antimicrobial use.

Let’s commit today: Protect our present. Secure our future.

🏥 Day 3 – Use responsibly, protect our future.

When antimicrobials are used incorrectly—such as taking them when not needed or not completing the full course—it weakens their effectiveness.

📌 Today’s commitment:
• If you’re prescribed antimicrobials, follow the instructions fully—even if you feel better.
• Talk to your health-professional: Ask if the medicine is really needed and what you should expect.

🗣️ Spread the word: “My choice matters.” Protect existing treatments so they work when we really need them.

🧼 Day 2 – Prevention is power.

When infections don’t respond to treatment because of resistant microbes, simple illnesses can become serious.

💡 Ways you can help:
• Keep up with good hygiene – wash your hands regularly, stay up to date with vaccinations.
• Avoid getting ill – healthy habits protect you and help reduce the need for antimicrobials.

Let’s all prevent infections and help protect the future.

📢 It’s Day 1 of World Anti-Microbial Awareness Week!

🔹 Theme: Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.

🔬 Did you know that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is already affecting our health, food systems and environment?

🚨 This week we’re raising awareness of why every one of us—whether patient, health-worker, farmer, policymaker or citizen—has a role to play.

✅ What you can do today:
• Only use antibiotics or antimicrobials when prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
• Never share leftover antimicrobials or use them without guidance.

➡️ Share this post to help spread the message. Together we can safeguard the medicines that keep us healthy.
