It sounds strange, but many people who feel they “can’t get enough air” are actually breathing too much.
When we over-breathe (often due to stress), we reduce carbon dioxide levels in the body. Carbon dioxide isn’t just a waste gas — it plays a key role in helping oxygen get released from the blood into the tissues.
When CO₂ drops too low, oxygen delivery becomes less efficient. The result?
• Air hunger
• Frequent sighing
• Yawning
• Tight chest
• Increased anxiety
The solution isn’t bigger breaths.
It’s lighter, slower, quieter breathing — ideally through the nose.

I’ve just completed Module 2 of my breathing training and it really shifted my perspective.

I learned that light, gentle breathing can actually calm the nervous system more effectively than deep breathing. I also discovered how to assess breathing patterns in a simple and practical way.
As someone who works hands-on with clients every day, I’m excited to start incorporating small breathing guidance into my sessions.

Breathing seems simple — but it’s powerful.
