The Bakeability Cafe will be open on Tuesday, selling lunches and baked goods, at Bawdrip Parish Hall from 12.00-2.30.

Homemade soup with a roll, a cheese scone or a toastie
Chicken curry with rice or jacket potato
Lasagne
Ploughmans lunches
Jacket potato with a variety of fillings
Sausage rolls
Wendy’s famous quiches and salad (with a jacket potato if you're hungry!)
Paninis and toasties with various fillings
Cakes, cookies, scones and buns.
NEW - chocolate croissants!
Pudding of the Week: cheesecake

Any baked goods left over at the end of the day will be put into our new Too Brill to Bin boxes for sale on Wednesday. Prices will range from £2-4 per box depending on contents and will be available from Cossington Village Hall between 11-12 am or Devon House, Bawdrip between 4-5pm. I will post the number of boxes available on a Tuesday evening. Help us in the fight against food waste!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is the last week that the cafe will be open on a Tuesday. From next week we will open on Thursday with the same opening hours. So our next cafe after Tues 21st Oct will be Thursday 30th Oct. This means we won't have to shut on the Tuesdays after Bank Holidays, so even more opportunities to visit us!

It’s time for your bread orders!

Please note we are no longer making Chelsea buns on a Friday because of the small size of the order. However we always have a whole batch fresh out of the oven at our Tuesday Cafe in Bawdrip, so you can pick some up from there ( Parish Hall, 12-2.30).

Loaves: large white, wholemeal, granary or olive £2.00, small £1.00; large cheese, cheese/bacon, cheese/onion, spiced fruit or walnut £3.00, small £1.50 or ask for any other flavours wanted.

Bread delivery is on Fridays between 1.30-2.45 to all the Polden villages or you can collect from Cossington Village Hall at the same time.

An Interview with CS by MH and Fran.

MH: What was your favourite activity this week?
CS: Swimming. I go with B, C and Wendy. I swim lengths and I’m getting better and better!

FE: Did you find anything difficult this week?
CS: Working at Purplespoon. I had to work very hard!
FE : What did you do?
CS: Washing up, drying up, having a hot chocolate!
FE: What’s so hard about that?
CS: Well there was a lot of whipped cream and marshmallows!! 😂
MH: What was your favourite lunch at SO?
CS: Wendy’s curry! It is beautiful!
FE: if you were planning a Christmas treat for Stepping Out members, what would you want to do?
CS: Decorate a big Christmas Tree!
MH: Do you like going for a walk with SO?
CS: No, I don’t like walking! Walking is like gym!
MH: What jobs are you best at?
CS: Making bread! Today I made the granary bread!
MH: What made you laugh this week?
CS: Doing this interview! Hee hee!!

CS: Colouring with lots of my own felt tips!

An Interview with MH, by JC.

JC: What did you do today?
MH: I went to the radio station with RB. We had to plan the play list in the computer and I spoke on the microphone. I played a One Direction song.

F: What is your favourite thing to do at Stepping Out?
MH: On Monday I went to the cattery and did the Fluffballs. I changed litter trays and gave them clean water and food. But last week I really liked serving people with their cakes at the coffee morning with H and J!

JC: What was your favourite food this week? I like chicken drumsticks!
MH: I liked the hotdogs that we had today- they were great!

JC: Have you been helpful?
MH: Well I helped Fran with the shopping list. I had to remember all the things we needed to make a lasagne.

JC: What countries have you been to?
MH: I’ve been to the Isle of Wight on a ferry.

F: What challenges did you encounter this week?
MH: I was doing the churchyard with Chief and the cord on the strimmer broke!

JC: Do you like footballers?
MH: Not really, I’m more into cricket, pool or Formula One

JC: what British motor sport events to you like?
MH: Banger racing!

Back to normal for bread orders this week!

T: What made you laugh at SO?
H: Playing the game when we put the balls in the big trousers ( see photos for an explanation!)

T: H:What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to this weekend staying at mums.

T: Did you do anything new this week?
H:I was at the disco but there were too many people so I went to the cafe with Fran, David, R and R.

T: What did you do in your free time?
H: I watched videos on the IPad.

T: What was the most helpful thing that you have done at SO?
H: I helped David cleaning the kitchen surfaces.

T: What was your favourite activity?
H: Volunteering at the cattery.

Interview of the Week : JC interviewed by RB

RB: What made you laugh at SO?
JC: In my free time I watched Balamory , The Giggler, series 4. it was Archie and Edie MacCredie and they were laughing at a hat!

RB: What are you looking forward to doing next week?
JC: Seeing Tim again I think ( Tim is a member of staff who has been on leave this week)

RB: Did you do anything new this week?
JC: I ate a cheeseburger

RB: What was the worst thing that happened to you?
JC: Going to the tip on Highbridge Road with RB and Carolyn. It was a windy day

RB: What else did you do in your free time?
JC: I played Tumble Tower with HA. I won and HA knocked it over!

RB: What was the most helpful thing that you have done at SO?
JC: Maybe it was carrying the chairs for Justin yesterday. We had to break them up and take them to the tip. ( We missed a photo of J doing this but there’s some photos below of the others in the group doing the activity).

RB: What was your favourite activity?
JC: I think it has to be seeing the scarecrows in Bawdrip. My favourite was the scarecrow in the apple tree!

RB: What was your favourite lunch?
JC: Definitely hot dogs

RB: What job are you best at?
JC: Car maintenance, washing vehicles with soap and brushes and water.
