We had a very special visitor at Woodland’s View recently… the Easter Bunny! 🐰💛

Hopping around the home, the Easter Bunny spent time visiting our residents, lending a helping hand with a few jobs, and most importantly spreading lots of Easter joy and smiles along the way.

It was wonderful to see so much laughter and excitement, with everyone enjoying the surprise visit. Thank you to our fluffy friend for making the day so memorable!

Woodlands View marks a memorable but emotional day.

Kim Williamson, our Senior Carer on Newton House, is retiring today after 23 years of dedicated service at Woodlands View.

Kim is one of the most caring, kind, considerate, and patient people you could ever meet. She will be truly missed by all the staff and residents alike.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you for your incredible 23 years of service and for the lasting, positive impact you have made on the lives of our residents.

We wish you all the very best in your retirement, Kim—you will be deeply missed.

We’re proud to see our Wellbeing Coordinator bringing learning into meaningful action following their recent Music in Dementia Care course 🎶

This week, residents took part in a music session inspired by those new approaches — and the results were truly heartwarming. Everyone joined in with enthusiasm, making a real effort to synchronise rhythms and movements, and even coming together in song.

It was a wonderful moment of connection, joy, and shared experience. Seeing residents engage, support one another, and express themselves through music is a powerful reminder of how impactful thoughtful, person-centred care can be.

Residents recently came together for a fun-filled Easter-themed social club at Woodlands View Care Home. The afternoon was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and delicious treats 🐣🥚

The highlight of the session was an Easter word scramble, which sparked a light-hearted sense of competition, with participants eager to win Easter eggs as prizes.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to socialise, have fun, and celebrate the Easter season together.

Yesterday, our care home was filled with joy, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness as we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style! 🍀

The celebration started with a lively karaoke session, where residents, staff, and family members all joined in—singing, clapping, and making unforgettable memories together. Then our residents were treated to a fantastic performance by talented Irish dancers, whose energy and vibrant routines brought smiles to everyone in the room.

It was truly heartwarming to see everyone come together, sharing such special moments and embracing the spirit of the day. A big thank you to our amazing staff and supportive families for helping make the celebration so meaningful for our residents.

This Mother’s Day was truly special in our care home as we brought together residents, their families, and our dedicated carers to celebrate the wonderful mothers in our community 🩷

The day was filled with warmth, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Residents enjoyed spending quality time with their loved ones, sharing stories, reminiscing, and creating new memories together.

A highlight of the day was our delightful afternoon tea, where everyone came together to enjoy a selection of sweet treats, sandwiches, and a comforting cup of tea in a beautifully decorated setting.

Moments like these remind us how important connection, love, and togetherness are. We feel privileged to be part of such special celebrations and to support our residents in making lasting memories.

Woodlands View had the pleasure of welcoming the talented Colchester Chinese Culture Society Dancers, who delivered a spectacular performance for our wonderful residents in celebration of Chinese New Year.

The lively event filled our home with colour, music, and the infectious joy of this traditional festival. It was more than just a performance—it was a celebration of culture, community, and the happiness that comes from sharing special moments together.

Our home was filled with love, laughter, and romance as we hosted a special Valentine’s Day dinner for our residents and their partners 🩷🌹

Our chefs personally served each couples’ three-course meals, while the wellbeing and care teams stepped into the role of waiters and waitresses, ensuring residents and their significant others enjoyed a full “wine and dine” experience.

It was truly heartwarming to see couples smiling, laughing, and cherishing such a meaningful experience together — a day that will be remembered fondly by all.

We held a celebration at Woodlands View to wish our resident John and his wife Sheila a happy 66th wedding anniversary 🥂

Their love story, which began as a chance meeting on a dance floor, continues to stand the test of time

Together they raised two children, and their family has grown to include four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Sheila and John’s story is a reminder that sometimes, the best partnerships really do start with a single dance—and keep going to the same rhythm for decades.
