A truly unforgettable day out at The O2 ✨

Dilys, a resident at Woodlands View, and Jess, our Activities Co-ordinator, were treated to a very special experience at London’s iconic O2 Arena after being selected through a Nestlé opportunity.

From a private taxi journey to being hosted in a private, fully accessible suite with fantastic views, refreshments and outstanding hospitality, every detail was thoughtfully planned. The spectacular ice-skating show was a real highlight, leaving Dilys smiling from ear to ear.

A huge thank you to Nestlé and The O2 for such a memorable, inclusive and wonderfully generous experience, one that created memories to be treasured for a long time to come. 💛

Important Update: Preventative Mask Measures at Woodlands View

Due to the increasing number of residents with flu, we have decided to introduce preventative universal mask wearing, even where there isn’t a current outbreak, as an extra precaution. This measure is designed to help reduce transmission, protect our most vulnerable residents, and support our colleagues during this challenging time.

We kindly ask that all relatives and visitors wear a face mask when visiting the home. Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping everyone safe.

A Heartwarming Performance at Woodlands View
We were thrilled to welcome the Stevenage Seventh Day Adventist Choir to Woodlands View Care Home! The choir treated us to a wonderful mix of Christmas carols, Gospel songs, and Hymns, filling the home with beautiful music and festive cheer.

It was truly inspiring to see children as young as three and four singing with such confidence. The harmonies and range of tones complemented each voice perfectly, creating a magical atmosphere for everyone present.

Our staff and residents were completely captivated! Residents shared how much they enjoyed the performance — Val Crook loved the Gospel songs and was charmed by the confidence of the youngest singers. David Carney and his daughter-in-law were moved to tears by the sheer beauty of the children’s singing. David said, “The sight of the young children singing their hearts out brought tears to the eyes of both my daughter and me.”

A huge thank you to the Stevenage Seventh Day Adventist Choir for bringing such joy, music, and smiles to Woodlands View!

🎄 Christmas Celebrations at Woodlands View 🎄

Woodlands View was filled with festive cheer as we hosted Christmas parties across each house for our staff, residents, families, and the local community. The day was packed with fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Guests enjoyed a delicious festive buffet prepared by our fantastic kitchen team, featuring everything from sausage rolls, samosas, quiche, pizza slices, and chicken goujons to freshly made sandwiches, cupcakes, sponge cakes, Christmas cake, fruit cakes, and shortbread biscuits.
Live singers and entertainers brought the celebrations to life in every house, performing a mix of Christmas classics and popular hits from artists such as Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé. It was truly heart-warming to see residents and staff singing, dancing, and celebrating together.

We were thrilled to welcome family members, friends, and the local community, whose presence made the day even more special. Our nurses, carers, and management team fully embraced the festivities, with our amazing care team dressing up as snowmen, reindeer, and other festive characters — spreading joy, laughter, and Christmas magic throughout Woodlands View.
A wonderful celebration that truly captured the spirit of togetherness and community this festive season!

🌟 Investing in Dementia Care at Woodlands View 🌟

At Woodlands View, our Dementia Care Coaches, Babatunde Idowu and Danielle Smith, recently delivered an outstanding Dementia Training Course to our nurses and care staff. These sessions were thoughtfully planned and delivered with tremendous effort, ensuring the training was engaging, informative, and highly interactive.
Babatunde and Danielle demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and passion for sharing their knowledge with the wider team. Their commitment to education and excellence in dementia care truly shone through, creating an inspiring learning experience for all who attended.

We are incredibly proud and fortunate at Woodlands View to have care staff who genuinely care about what they do. Our team takes great pride in their roles, continuously developing their skills, educating themselves about dementia, and sharing their knowledge through leadership and training. This dedication ensures ongoing learning, development, and the highest standards of care for our residents.

A huge well done to our nurses and care staff at Woodlands View — you are a true credit to our residents. The more we invest in training and upskilling, the better the quality of care we can provide.

Thank you for your passion, commitment, and for always keeping our residents’ best interests at the heart of everything you do.

We had another fantastic turnout at our joint Social Club with Blossoms Health Care Solutions! Held on the last Thursday of every month, each gathering has a fun theme and November’s was Bingo and Toffee Apple Making. 🎉

It was wonderful to see our residents and members of the local community joining in. The social club continues to grow each month, helping to build new friendships and connections both within Woodlands View and across the wider community. One of our lovely guests even won a Bingo prize and shared how much they enjoyed the morning!

Everyone had great fun making toffee apples, playing Bingo, and chatting over tea, coffee, and biscuits.

A huge thank you to the Blossoms Health Care Solutions team, our Woodlands View colleagues, our amazing residents, and our supportive local community for making this event such a warm, friendly, and memorable one each month. 💜

The residents of Woodlands View Care Home enjoyed a fantastic visit to Stevenage Football Club, where they were given a special behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium!
With many Stevenage supporters in our home, excitement levels were high. Melissa, the club’s Community Engagement Manager, shared fascinating stories about the club, and residents loved sitting in the stands imagining the match-day atmosphere.
Terry, one of our residents, said the visit brought back wonderful memories of watching Stevenage vs Newcastle in 1998 , one of the best days of his life.
A huge thank you to Stevenage FC, to Melissa for organising such a memorable experience, and to our amazing Wellbeing Team for supporting residents throughout the day. So many smiles and special moments! ⚽❤️

Our residents and team came together to celebrate Black History Month with a day full of colour, culture, and community spirit. Staff and residents proudly wore traditional and cultural clothing representing their heritage, while our Wellbeing Team hosted a fun quiz highlighting influential Black figures who’ve shaped history. ✨

A huge thank-you to our incredible chefs, who prepared a delicious Caribbean-inspired menu — featuring Caribbean mince and dumplings, West African stew, and Caribbean spiced banana cake – all bursting with flavour and enjoyed by everyone! 🍛🍰

It was a wonderful day of learning, sharing, and celebrating the diversity that makes our community so special. 💜
