Our own Emma and Kay gave it their all at York’s annual Dragon Boat Race last month, paddling hard to support Survive, a North Yorkshire charity helping those affected by sexual violence. Their dedication paid off, raising an impressive £480 for the cause. Well done, Emma and Kay for paddling for a cause!

This month, we’re celebrating a huge milestone. 11 years of Mountain Healthcare!

Since day one, our mission has been clear: to deliver expert, compassionate, and reliable healthcare wherever it’s needed. Over the past 11 years, we've grown, adapted, and stayed committed to the people and communities we serve.

In just the last year alone, we’ve supported:

• 14,771 survivors of sexual violence with specialist, compassionate care
• 99,583 detainees in custody with professional, respectful healthcare

This anniversary is a reflection of the incredible dedication of our team, the trust of our partners, and the strength of the communities we serve. Thank you for being part of our journey.

The Bridgeway SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) had the idea to turn their garden space into a calming area for staff to relax during breaks and for clients to take time out during their visit to the SARC.

Thanks to the generosity of the B&Q Penrith team, they now have a beautiful garden bench and four recliner chairs to help bring this vision to life.

A huge thank you to B&Q for this thoughtful donation, it’s already making a difference!

Exciting announcement from Mountain Healthcare!

We're proud to be partnering with Steadfast Training to deliver tailored Apprenticeship Training for our staff. This initiative will support professional development across several key areas:

Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker
(for our Crisis Workers)

Level 3 Health & Wellbeing Worker
(for our Male Outreach Workers)

Level 2 Emergency Call Handler
(for our Pathway and Support Service Staff)

This brings hands-on learning and high-quality training to help strengthen and expand our team’s skills. Our first cohort is already enrolled and we are just getting started!

We recently held a fantastic managers' meeting, bringing together teams from Cumbria, the North East, and Yorkshire! It was great to welcome many new managers to the group and build connections across our expanding regions.

Our Associate Heads of Health (AHOHs) led an engaging presentation focused on training and competency, with a spotlight on our new induction process. They also shared how our growing senior team can offer enhanced support to them.

In the afternoon, we headed outdoors for an interactive quiz on ISO mitigations supported by our Quality Manager, which was a fun and informative way to test our knowledge. We then worked through our end-to-end risk assessment, mapping out mitigations specific to our SARCs.

The session concluded with a reflective discussion on the areas where managers are feeling most stretched, and how the senior team can provide meaningful support moving forward.

We ended the day with a light-hearted duck painting activity – a creative and relaxing way to round off a productive day together!
