Sexual assault referral centres (SARCs) are here for anyone who has been r***d or sexually assaulted or abused at any time in their life.
Available across England, SARCs provide specialist medical care and emotional support in a place where you will be listened to and believed in a place where you are safe.

You can get help from a SARC without involving the police.

Today is a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health and the role we all play in supporting one another. World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness, driving positive change, and showing that mental health truly matters.

At Mountain Healthcare, we’re marking the occasion with a meaningful initiative: a Tea and Talk Get Together across all our sites today, Friday 10 October. It’s a chance to pause, connect, and make time for ourselves and each other.

Sexual assault or abuse can happen to anyone at any time - it may be a single event or happen repeatedly. But we are here, and you can turn to us 24/7 for medical, emotional or practical support at your nearest sexual assault referral centre. Our own Emma and Kay gave it their all at York’s annual Dragon Boat Race last month, paddling hard to support Survive, a North Yorkshire charity helping those affected by sexual violence. Their dedication paid off, raising an impressive £480 for the cause. Well done, Emma and Kay for paddling for a cause!

• 99,583 detainees in custody with professional, respectful healthcare
