March 8
International Women’s Day was never meant to be a celebration.
It was born out of struggle, out of women organising, protesting, and demanding dignity, safety, and equal rights.
And yet, it now feels difficult even to pause and mark it. The world feels loud and unsettled. The news moves quickly from one crisis to another, and the weight of it all can make reflection feel almost impossible.
In the therapy room, we often sit with the quieter realities behind the headlines, the everyday ways women carry pressure, violence, expectation, and resilience in their bodies and relationships.
So today is not about flowers or slogans.
It is about remembering that the lives, safety, and voices of women still require attention, protection, and care.
It is about acknowledging the strength it takes for so many women simply to continue to live, to question, to rebuild, and to support one another in a world that can feel far from safe.
