Thereโs a common misconception that scar therapy is only helpful in the early stages of healingโฆ but the reality is, thereโs no โwrongโ time to start.
Whether your scar is weeks old or something youโve lived with for years, the body is always capable of change when given the right input.
As a qualified nurse, with a background in surgical care, and trained in the Restore Scar Therapy methods, my approach is always rooted in understanding whatโs happening beneath the surface โ not just what we can see.
๐ฃ Scar therapy can support:
โข Improving mobility and reducing tightness or restriction
โข Supporting lymphatic flow and reducing localised swelling
โข Easing discomfort, sensitivity, or altered sensation
โข Improving the overall appearance and quality of the tissue
โข Helping you feel more connected and comfortable in your body again
This work isnโt just for one type of scar.
It can be beneficial for:
โข Caesarean section scars
โข Oncology-related scars
โข Elective surgery scars
โข Burn scars
โข Keloid and hypertrophic scars
โข Injury or trauma-related scarring
โจ๏ธAnd importantly โ this isnโt about โfixingโ anything.โจ๏ธ
Itโs about supporting your body to adapt, restore function, and move more freely.
Every treatment is approached with your wellbeing at the centre, taking into account your history, your recovery, and what feels right for you.
Scar therapy can also be combined as part of a wider treatment plan alongside Manual Lymphatic Drainage, which I am also qualified and experienced in. This allows us to support healing more holistically and work towards the best possible outcomes for your body.
If youโre unsure where to start, or whether this might be right for you, youโre always welcome to get in touch. We can have an initial conversation, and if you feel ready, book in for a first appointment where we can explore your needs in more detail and create a plan that works for you.
Thereโs no set number of sessions or one-size-fits-all approach โ every scar, and every person, is different.
