Another great weekend with our teacher trainees at the Stirling Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training 🧘‍♀️

We enjoyed slow winter practices, explored advanced pranayama techniques and journeyed deeper in the philosophy of the Yamas.

A special appreciation to our own lovely The Yoga Tree Stirling studio — the perfect space to hold this work and these connections 💚

Module 5 and the first of the year completed — time is flying! Lovely to witness our trainees finding their voice and developing their practice.

I really love this version of back extension in Aerial Yoga 🤍
Supported, spacious, and surprisingly gentle, yet deeply effective.

So many students have shared how helpful they find this shape - especially for easing tight backs, creating space through the front of the body, and feeling supported rather than pushed. The fabric does such a beautiful job in holding you while still allowing movement and breath.

Last night’s class felt like the most peaceful, grounded way to honour our practice over the past year and to gently say goodbye to 2025. ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined, and I hope you enjoy your handmade candles 😊

It was our final class together for this year— the last one for my Yogis and the last class held in our lovely studio. So much gratitude, so many feelings.

This year has been a real mix for me, and I know many of you can probably relate. Moments of worry and uncertainty with family, alongside deeply exciting chapters — becoming the co-owner of my favourite space and finally completing the Trauma-Informed Teacher Training I had been dreaming of. Holding both at once has been humbling and powerful.

As we move toward a new year, I’m wishing you all a smooth, kind transition into what’s arriving. Thank you for showing up, for practising with me, and for supporting me in more ways than you know. 🤍

I’m so grateful for each of you, and I truly look forward to continuing this journey together within our beautiful yoga community.

✨ Winter Solstice ✨

The longest night, the quiet turning point.

Today we mark the official beginning of Winter in the Seasonal Yoga calendar.

❄️ Symbolism of the Solstice
Winter Solstice reminds us that stillness is not stagnation. In the pause, wisdom gathers. This is the season of conservation, reflection, and gentle renewal. Nature invites us inward: to rest, to restore, to soften.

💧 The Water Element
Winter is governed by the Water element — fluid, intuitive, and wise. On the mat, water teaches us to move with ease rather than force and to support the nervous system through slow, nourishing practices. Off the mat, water asks us to flow with life’s rhythms, to rest when tired, and to protect our energy like a precious resource.

This season, may you allow yourself to slow down, to go inward, and to remember that rest is a sacred practice.

Had such a lovely time with the Thursday Yoga class people today that I totally forgot to take a picture of us all during our post class lunch 😁

Such a lovely group in this class and so thoughtful of those creative ones in the group to bring goodies for everyone else 🎁

This time of year can feel a bit much.
So many plans. So many things to get done.

Outside though, everything is slowing down.
Nature isn’t rushing anywhere.

But we keep doing the opposite.
We push. We hurry. We keep going.

You can always find sanctuary in our Yoga classes together as they are running this and the following weeks.

If you can’t make it to class right now, that’s okay. Yoga doesn’t end at the mat.

Here are a few simple tools you can draw from to find a breather and take a step back:

• Pause and Breathe — slow inhale through the nose, even slower exhale through the mouth

• Release tension - relax the shoulders, the muscles of your face, your jaw

• Walk in nature - find a few mins in your day for a quick walk in a green space to align with natural rhythms in the season

• Say no when possible - give permission to you to decline an invitation or cancel plans when you feel your schedule does not allow you time to take a step back from it all.

We are natural beings trapped in unrealistic pace of day to day living. Maybe we can draw from our Yoga practice learnings to find some pockets of peace and quiet in our days.

Now that the festive period is approaching, we are becoming more and more aware that although for some it remains an exciting time of the year, for others it is not merry and bright, but actually quite challenging.

Wherever you find yourself to be, I am sure you will value keeping your inner peace and calm during December, so I am here for you with regular classes during this month & during the festive period.

Also, I am continuing our lovely tradition of the last few years with a special candlelit class on the 30th of December to say goodbye to this year. Our regular Tuesday 7:30pm class at The Yoga Tree Stirling will get transformed into a slow restorative flow class that day to welcome the new year with ease; your opportunity to release tension, bring calmness, and offer you space and time to connect back to yourself.
