This Easter Sunday, I’m thinking of the quiet ways so many women have been taught to abandon themselves—to shrink, to overgive, to carry self-hate in silence.

Today is a soft turning point. A release.

I’m choosing to let go of the patterns rooted in not feeling “enough.” The inner critic, the guilt, the pressure to be everything for everyone. That version of me doesn’t get to lead anymore.

This season of renewal reminds me: I am allowed to grow into a woman who speaks kindly to herself, who takes up space, who becomes without apology.

There is power in leaving behind what hurt you—and becoming who you were always meant to be. 🌸✨

🌙 Why SLEEP is the Key to Your Health (And why I didn’t sleep even after 9+ hours in bed!)

Here are the tips I regularly share with my clients — because your wellbeing starts long before you get on the reiki bed

💤 Getting deep, quality sleep every night is one of the most important foundations for good health. If you want to live a full, energised life — don’t underestimate your sleep.

🛌 Let me tell you what happened just the other night...

I spent more than 9 hours in bed, under the covers, trying to rest. But I still woke up feeling tired, sluggish, and out of sorts. Why?

Because it wasn’t real, restorative sleep.

😵‍💫 I was away from home, without my favourite mattress.
The bed was hard, uncomfortable and the room was super hot 🥵 . As a result:

⏰ I woke up every few hours
Each time, I looked at the clock, fell asleep again — but never deeply.
And that’s the point. Quantity ≠ quality.

🧠 Let’s talk sleep science for a second:

There are 4 main sleep stages in every cycle:
Light drowsiness – around 10 minutes
Light, sensitive sleep – approx. 20 minutes
Deep sleep prep phase – about 45 minutes
Very deep sleep – another 45 minutes
(This is when your dreams happen – yes, everyone dreams! 😴)
Together, these stages make up one complete sleep cycle, lasting about 2 hours.

💥 If you keep waking up before finishing a full cycle, your body doesn’t get the chance to fully recover — even if you’ve been in bed for hours.

Most of us need 3–5 full cycles per night for proper rest. Even just one full cycle is better than nothing (though more is definitely better!).

🧬 Fun fact:
🕐 In the first half of the night, your body works on physical recovery.
🕔 In the second half, your brain processes mental and emotional information.
So broken sleep = no full body or brain recovery.

The Science of Reiki......

Hands on Reiki isn't just spiritual or "woo woo"-it's now scientifically grounded. Research shows that Reiki reduces cortisol (your stress hormone) and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, lowering heart rate and blood pressure. When a Reiki therapists places their hands on you, they're facilitating a profound shift in your body's stress response.

Studies reveal that Reiki increases heart rate variability, a key marker of nervous system balance and emotional resilience. It promotes deep relaxation, enhances immune function, and supports the body's natural healing processes. The gentle energy work creates a space where your mind quiets, your body releases tension, and your spirit finds peace.

Reiki is woven into every treatment I deliver. This is wellness that honours the whole -body, mind, and soul.

One of my clients wears an Oura ring which constantly collects data regarding her well-being, she sent me a screen shot of how her body reacted during our Reiki session.
The graph 📈 showed “stressed” upon arrival which reduced down to “engaged” , reducing again to “relaxed” and finally, more deeply to “restored” level. This represents periods when the body is in a state of deep rest & recovery, indicating the parasympathetic nervous system is active (Rest and digest mode) when your body and mind are recharging. This “restored” period is usually reached during activities like meditation or napping. This is when the body regenerates, renews and shifts into deeper healing.
