For anyone new to Park Yoga this year, here's what you need to know.

What is Park Yoga?
Park Yoga is a charity offering FREE yoga in outdoor spaces throughout the country on Sunday mornings from May to September. The charity’s aim is to encourage mindful movement in beautiful outdoor spaces. This year we have over 50 locations across the country offering FREE yoga on Sunday mornings. Just think of all those people moving and breathing together!

Who is Park Yoga for?
Sessions are aimed at beginners as well as more seasoned yogis. Your Park Yoga instructors will endeavour to give different options for different abilities and energy levels, but please remember that you are joining these sessions at your own risk. You remain responsible for your own safety at all times. If a pose doesn’t feel right to you, please feel free to sit it out. And you can take a break whenever you need to. You are welcome to bring your children, but please keep them under close supervision - you remain responsible for them at all times.

Who is Park Yoga not for?
Unless you already have an established yoga practice, these sessions are not be suitable for pregnant women. There may be poses that aren't safe during pregnancy and the group will be too large for the instructor to give individual advice. And if you have a medical condition or injury that may affect your safe participation, please check with your doctor before attending. Please be aware that you are joining these sessions at your own risk and you remain responsible for your own safety. If a pose doesn’t feel right to you please feel free to sit it out. And you can take a break whenever you need to.

Do I need to pre-register before I come?
No, just turn up ready for a 9.30am start. We finish at 10:30am. Park Yoga takes place every Sunday morning at 9:30am from 5 May through to 15 September. No need to book or register.

What shall I bring?
Bring your own yoga mat, towel or a blanket to sit on. If you like to use props like blocks or cushions do feel free to bring those along too, but they're not a necessity. You may also want to bring a drink and, as the weather warms up 🙏, your sunscreen and sunglasses 😎

Is it really free?
YES! Park Yoga is and will always be free. Donations are welcome and the money raised goes towards ensuring Park Yoga can return to Wokingham again next year. As well as donating through the Park Yoga website (www.parkyoga.co) you can also make card payments on the day - every little helps!

Where do the sessions take place?
Howard Palmer Gardens. Look out for the Park Yoga flag or follow the crowd with yoga mats! Whatthreewords///super.crowd.breed (because we are indeed a super crowd!! 😊)

Can children come?
While the yoga is not tailored to children, they are more than welcome to accompany. All we ask is that your children remain your responsibility at all times, even during the yoga poses. And please ensure that they are kept close to you for the hour and are not a danger to others around you.

What happens if it rains?
It depends on the rain! We're hopeful for a sunny season but if it is necessary to cancel due to rain or bad weather, a message will be posted to this page at least an hour before we are due to start, so do check before you leave home! Sessions will continue in light rain, so just make sure you bring adequate clothing.

What should I wear?
Wear whatever is comfortable for you to move and stretch in. I would advise wearing layers as the weather is so unpredictable! And your sunglasses and sun cream for those sunny days.

What else do I need to know?
I’m sure I’ve missed something, so please free to ask if you have any further questions! Or pop over to www.parkyoga.co to find out more

Thank you to Wokingham Town Council for contributing to funding and supporting Park Yoga again this year.
