Living Nature CIC

We’ve had worrying reports from skylark surveyors. Numbers appear to be dropping.

Nests are being disturbed by people and dogs in fields where there are nests on the ground. This is heartbreaking.

The Country Park should be a haven for all - but we need to show consideration for others.

In cruel world, do your bit to keep Werneth Low a safe space for our vulnerable wildlife.

During the summer months keep to paths at all times with dogs under control.

🌿 Calling Local Wellbeing Facilitators 🌿

Living Nature CIC is beginning to build a collaborative network of facilitators for future programmes, workshops and community events.

We’re looking to connect with people offering:
– Forest bathing / nature connection
– Creative arts for wellbeing
– Somatic or nervous system-based practices
– Yoga / movement
– Teen wellbeing programmes
– Sound, breathwork or seasonal circles
– Environmental / land-based education

We run seasonal wellness circles, children’s clubs, teen programmes and are developing a broader land-based education and wellbeing model.

This is an invitation to start a conversation — whether you'd like to guest facilitate, collaborate, or explore deeper involvement as Living Nature grows.

If you're aligned with community-rooted, nature-led wellbeing, we'd love to hear from you.

We’ve been still wintering.

Resting.
Listening.
Letting things settle.

But slowly… we’re back 🌿

Spring is gently peeking its head through.
I’ve started noticing the daffodils.
That quiet yellow promise that something is shifting.

February’s Wellness Club will explore this feeling of renewal —
growth,
fresh air,
planting small seeds for the year ahead.

Not pressure.
Not resolutions.
Just noticing what wants to grow.

We’re excited to have our wellness clubs return this February as well as a new offering for older kids (12-16) to join as a wellness steward, offering leadership experience in a safe, supportive environment!

Kids Wellness Clubs & Wellness Stewards – February 🌱

This February, Living Nature CIC is opening space for both children and adults to reconnect through nature, care and community.

🌿 Kids Wellness Clubs
Calm, creative, nature-based sessions supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and connection — through outdoor play, movement, making and reflection.

🌿 Wellness Stewards
We’re also inviting adults who feel called to support our work as Wellness Stewards — helping care for land, hold space, support sessions and grow community wellbeing from the ground up.

Different roles, shared roots:
care, presence and relationship.

📩 Dates, details and ways to get involved can be found via Living Nature CIC, or by messaging us directly if you’re unsure where to start 🤍

Why Living Nature has grown into a few clear strands 🌱

Living Nature has always been about relationship — with ourselves, each other and the land.

Over time, the work has grown. To care for it properly (and sustainably), we’ve separated Living Nature into a few clear strands — not to complicate things, but to bring clarity and integrity to each part.

Here’s how it now lives:

🌿 Living Nature CIC
Our community and grant-funded work — including Kids Wellness Clubs, learning hubs and accessible wellbeing projects.

🌿 Living Nature | Wellness
Private therapy and wellness work with Josie — counselling, circles and retreats.

🌿 Living Nature | Tree & Land Care
Matthew’s work caring for trees and land with a long-term, biodiversity-led approach.

🌿 Living Nature | Coaching (coming)
Embodied coaching rooted in physical health, mindset and relationship with land.

This main page holds the wider vision — people, land and community — and will gently link out to each strand.

Thank you for being part of this growing story 🤍
Follow the strands that feel most relevant to you.

Ever tried making a mandala from leaves?

It’s a simple, calming way to slow down and reconnect. Just gather a few autumn treasures—leaves, pinecones, acorns—and arrange them together on a board or the forest floor. You might notice how your breathing softens, or how your child’s focus settles as you build your pattern side by side.

No experience needed. Only a willingness to pause and notice the shapes, colours, and textures right at your fingertips.

Why not try it this week, indoors or out? If you do, we’d love to see your creations—share a photo or tell us how it felt below. 🍁

Curious about more nature-based wellbeing ideas? Message us anytime for tips or details about our wellness offerings.

Ever tried a mindful moment outdoors lately?

There’s something quietly magical about pausing among the trees, noticing the crunch of leaves and the cool air on your skin. Even five minutes of slowing down outside can help ease anxious minds and bring a sense of calm—especially in the busy run-up to winter.

If you’re curious, try this: Next time you’re out, pause and notice five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. It’s a gentle reset for your whole nervous system.

Want more ideas for your family, class, or yourself? Message us or pop by our next Wellness Circle to experience it together. 🌱✨

Closing the Learning Hub Pilot ✨🍂
Today we gathered for our final session at Toadstool Corner.
We sat by the fire — children and grown-ups together — and reflected on all the gifts this little woodland has given us.

The lessons were everywhere…
in the mud,
in the branches we carried,
in the way we solved problems,
in the friendships that formed slowly and naturally.
We learnt how to be patient, brave, curious, gentle, silly, kind.
And the grown-ups learnt just as much as the children.

Although we won’t return to this quiet corner, today didn’t feel like an ending.
It felt like a transition — a moment of gratitude before stepping into something bigger.

Our community is growing.
Our vision is strengthening.
And your support has given this little idea the roots it needed.

As we move towards the longest night in December, in true seasonal rhythm, it’s time for us — and the land — to rest.
To pause.
To breathe.
To dream into what Living Nature Learning Hub becomes next.

How will you rest this December?
What will you lay down, like the leaves?
What quiet nourishment do you need as the days darken?

Thank you, Toadstool Corner.
And thank you to everyone who has walked this pilot journey with us.
We’re just getting started. 🌙🌲
