Hi all, finally back after what has been a longer leave of absence than I originally intended. I plan to set Silver Lining up as a fully functioning charity within the next 12 months but need some help getting it off the ground

I find it very interesting that so many businesses post up about World Mental Health Day but you never see them mention anything about mental health for the other 364 days of the year

We will be highlighting and campaigning for mental health on a very regular basis and will be here for support as much as possible once we get up and running

Please remember, be kind to each other, you never know what somebody is going through, and if you're struggling please reach out to somebody

Another assault in one of our parks...please be extra vigilant if you live in the Teesside area, or anywhere for that matter

We would urge anyone...man, woman or child to purchase a personal protection alarm which emits a very loud siren to deter anyone that tries to attack you

Also, ensure that any Emergency SOS function on your phones is switched on and that you have at least 1 emergency contact saved to it so that they can be notified if anything happens to you. I believe that on some phones, this function also allows you to contact the emergency services with a few presses of a button and will record video and audio for evidence

We have recently had a meeting with Catalyst Stockton who are also assisting us with setting up as a charity and have also emailed MIND with the hopes of collaborating with Teesside MIND and offering our services through them as well

Hopefully in the near future we will also be teaming up with the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower charity

Thank you to the new visitors and followers :) Please share us wherever you can.

We are aiming to become a charity that helps people with mental health struggles through our own lived experiences. We can and will help with many topics, including:

Mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc)
Complex mental health issues (e.g. BPD)
Grief/Loss
Bullying
Harassment
Living with physical health issues/disabilities
Domestic violence/Abuse
Self harm ideation

Plus many more

We can also offer motivational speeches on subjects such as:

1. Bullying and the effects it can have on victims and loved ones
2. Safe driving and the effect that unsafe driving can have on victims and loved ones
Mental health and the mental health system and the changes that MUST happen to make it more effective for patients (we will also be running regular awareness projects on this)

Finally, we are looking for some passionate volunteers who could make up our board of trustees. There will be a board of 8 trustees in total, half will be male, half will be female. For more info please contact the page on messenger
