😍This week our sessions encouraged our young people to identify their strengths and talk about the times when they have used their strengths to cope with something difficult.

🤗Our sessions are usually simple and designed to provoke quality conversations with young people that help build their confidence and their resilience.

👋 Meet the team helping your child thrive! We are Natalie and Michelle, and we founded Happy Cactus Coaching to change how young people receive mental health support. Grounded in kindness, we embed what works from mental health services into gym activity that really helps young people build their confidence.

Our coaching happens in small, nurturing groups, so every young person feels seen and heard. We know young people struggle with the new school year, and we are here to help. Get in touch if you think our sessions could make the difference to your child.

Our kids love to hang! and then we move onto building the strength they need to do pull ups 💪🙌

We offer small groups strength training for kids, and we also embed some group activity that helps improve their mental health. Physical and mental wellbeing all in on place, with specially trained coaches 🥰

We blend mental health support into fitness and art activity, in a safe and accessible enviornment for young people.

Our Journey So Far .....

We started talking about combining our love of weight lifting and our passion for improving young people’s mental health in a hot tub in March last year. We knew three things . . .we are passionate about mental health, we worry about the mental health of our own kids and we love lifting weights. We wanted to do something that would make a difference and reach out to local young people. We want to give them a place to exercise without fear or judgement and we want to connect them to each other away from the pressure of school or social media. We also want more young people to do more exercise, and stay fit and healthy.

We combine gym based exercise with the kind of group activities that encourage young people to connect with their emotions and talk more about how they feel.

We build relationships based on trust and care, and we accept every young person for who they are.

We have done some research, we talked to lots of young people, we talked to parents, teachers and other professionals. We designed our sessions based on what we heard. And now here we are, running Happy Cactus Coaching Co. and trying our best to make a difference, one young person at a time.
