✨When motherhood feels heavy, glimmers matter✨

Some days in early motherhood can feel overwhelming, lonely, or emotionally exhausting, especially when you’re navigating anxiety, low mood, or intrusive thoughts.

✨A glimmer is a small moment that brings a sense of calm, warmth, or safety.
It might be your baby’s breath on your chest, a quiet cup of tea, a kind message, or feeling understood for a moment.

Glimmers don’t take the hard days away.
They don’t ask you to “be positive” or pretend everything is okay.
They simply remind your nervous system that right now, you are safe.

✨If today feels heavy, see if you can notice just one glimmer.✨

We are here especially for you.

🌟 Celebrating 4 Years of Play! 🌟

Mothers Mind has been proudly partnering with our friend, Hayley from The Sensory Storyteller CIC for four years, bringing monthly play sessions to our lovely families.

We know that mums experiencing poor mental health or anxiety often find it hard to join groups. This can leave them feeling guilty that their little ones might be missing out on experiences other children enjoy. 💛

These sessions are designed to benefit both children and mums. For little ones, they offer a safe, creative, sensory-rich space to explore, learn, and have fun. For mums, they provide a gentle, welcoming environment to relax, connect, and feel supported—without pressure or judgement.

Because when mums feel calmer, more confident, and less isolated, the benefits ripple straight back to their children. 🌱

Here’s to many more years of shared stories, laughter, and play! 🧸🚙📚🫧

Some of the hardest words parents and carers hear, are the ones they say to themselves. We might tell ourselves:

“I’m failing.”
“I should be coping better.”
“Everyone else seems to manage.”

But what if your inner voice sounded like a friend instead? They might say:

“You’re doing the best you can.”
“This is hard and you’re not weak for struggling.”
“You deserve support, not judgment.”

If this feels unfamiliar, you’re not alone. You don’t have to learn how to be kinder to yourself on your own ❤️

At PANDAS we run a range a free support services to support anyone struggling with perinatal mental health. You can have a look at all our services on our website using the link in the comment below.

Call For Evidence: Have you used maternity or neonatal services in England?

Baroness Amos is asking women and families to share their experiences through a
public Call for Evidence. These experiences will help shape the future of maternity and
neonatal services in England.

We want to ensure that HG voices are heard amongst the lived experiences in this investigation, as we know the impact it can have on mental and physical health, relationships, careers and so much more.

They are also asking for lived experiences of other people who have supported someone through a pregnancy, including fathers, family members, friends or carers.

Call for Evidence is open until 17th March 2026, and you can answer as little or as much as you feel comfortable with, and can save and return. There is no timeframe for a pregnancy experience https://ow.ly/NRfj50XZXUi

Pregnant women in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire can now get extra support and choice when planning their birth thanks to the launch of a new Birth Choices Clinic at UHNM. 🤰🏥

The monthly clinic, which is run by a consultant obstetrician and professional midwifery advocate (PMA), gives women and their birth partners an opportunity to talk about where and how they want to give birth and how their birth choices can be supported.

Women are referred to the Birth Choices Clinic by their community midwife when they express birth preferences that differ from standard UHNM guidance.

🗣 Jude Davies, lead professional midwifery advocate at UHNM, said: “We are delighted to open the Birth Choices Clinic at UHNM, which has been created to support women to make informed decisions about their care during pregnancy and birth. The clinic provides a dedicated, supportive space for open conversations, particularly for women who wish to explore options outside standard UHNM guidance.

“Appointments give women time to understand the reasons behind clinical advice, talk through the risks and benefits and share their questions, concerns and what matters most to them. By working together, we can put together a personalised care plan that reflects each woman’s needs, values and choices, while always keeping safety at the heart of care.

“The service follows NHS personalised care principles, meets the Ockenden recommendations, and has been developed in partnership with the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) to ensure women’s experiences help shape how care is delivered.”

The first patient to benefit from the service was Heidi Buckley from Newcastle-under-Lyme.

🗣 The 29-year-old stay-at-home mum said: “Having a say in the kind of birth and how it happens is very important. Being able to make choices helps you feel more confident, safe and in control during birth.

“With my first child, I just followed the hospital’s advice but now I see how important it is to have a birth plan that reflects what you want.”
