💛 Support Mothers Mind—at no extra cost to you 💛

We know how busy life is, especially with little ones, so we wanted to share a really simple way you can support Mothers Mind, just through your everyday online shopping.

By using the easyfundraising app, a small percentage from your online purchases is donated directly to us, without costing you a penny extra.

How it works:
✨ Download the easyfundraising app from your app store
✨ Create a quick account
✨ Choose Mothers Mind Staffordshire as your cause
✨ Shop online as normal through the app (or let it remind you when you visit a retailer)

That’s it! Every time you shop with participating retailers, they’ll donate a percentage of what you spend to support our work with mums and families 💕

🛒 For example, I did my weekly online shop with Tesco and Mothers Mind received a £2.40 donation, just from that one shop!

It all adds up and makes a real difference.

Thank you for helping us continue to be here for you and other mums who need support 💛

This week is Neurodiversity Awareness Week 💛

At Mothers Mind, we recognise that no two mothers experience the world in the same way, and that includes how we think, feel, process, and cope.

For many women, pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood can amplify neurodivergent experiences. Whether that’s feeling overwhelmed by sensory input, struggling with routine changes, masking in social spaces, or navigating anxiety in new and intense ways, these experiences are real, valid, and often misunderstood.

Maternal mental health support must be inclusive of neurodiversity.

As a charity, we are proud to offer a neurodivergent-friendly space. This means:

✨ Creating calm, low-pressure environments.
✨ Understanding sensory needs and emotional overwhelm.
✨ Adapting our support styles; there is no “one size fits all”.
✨ Valuing different communication styles.
✨ Meeting each mum where she is, without judgement.

You do not need to fit into a box to access support here.

We adapt our skills to meet the needs of our community, because every mum deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported in a way that works for her.

If you’ve ever felt like traditional support spaces don’t quite fit, please know, you belong here 🤍

✨ Why We Invest in Sensory Stories ✨

At Mothers Mind, we are always thinking about gentle, meaningful ways to support both mum and baby, especially during those early days when maternal mental health can feel fragile.

That’s why we invest in sensory storytelling sessions with Hayley from The Sensory Storyteller CIC. 💛

These sessions are so much more than just story time, they are a chance to pause, connect, and simply be.

For mums experiencing anxiety, low mood, or overwhelm, sensory stories offer:

🌿 A moment of calm
Soft lighting, soothing sounds, and gentle rhythms help regulate the nervous system, for both mum and baby.

👶 Pressure-free bonding
There’s no expectation to “get it right.” Just being present alongside your baby, sharing small sensory moments, can rebuild confidence and connection.

💬 Reduced isolation
Experiencing something together as a group reminds mums they are not alone in how they feel.

🧠 Support for baby’s development
Through touch, sound, and visual stimulation, babies begin to explore the world, all while hearing the most important voice: yours.

💞 Rebuilding joy in motherhood
When everything feels heavy, these sessions create space for lightness, smiles, and small, meaningful moments of enjoyment.

We know that when a mum feels even a tiny bit calmer, more connected, and less alone, it can make a powerful difference to her mental health journey.

That’s why sessions like this matter.
That’s why we invest in them.

Because every mum deserves support, and every moment of connection counts. 💗

Mother’s Day can bring up a lot of feelings.

For some, it’s cards, cuddles and little hands bringing breakfast to the bedside. But for many of us, it can feel much more complicated than that.

If today feels heavy, if you’re feeling low, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply not how you expected to feel as a mum, please know you are not alone in that.

For some, this might even be your first Mother’s Day, and the reality of early motherhood may look very different from what you imagined. The exhaustion, the constant mental load, the pressure to feel happy and grateful all the time, it can be a lot to carry.

Postnatal depression can make days like today feel especially hard. When the world is celebrating motherhood, it can sometimes highlight the gap between how things look on the outside and how they feel on the inside.

But struggling does not make you a bad mother.

It does not mean you don’t love your child.

It simply means you are going through something incredibly difficult.

Today, we’re holding space for every mum in this group. For those finding small moments of light, for those who are just getting through the day, and for those who are quietly carrying more than anyone around them realises.

You don’t have to pretend here.
You don’t have to be the “perfect mum”.

You are enough, exactly as you are today.

And we’re really glad you’re here with us. 🤍

Baroness Amos is asking women and families across England to share their experiences of maternity and neonatal care through a public Call for Evidence. Responses to the Call for Evidence will be used to inform the National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation’s findings and recommendations. Here at PANDAS we encourage you to share your story.

The Call for Evidence is open for 8 weeks from 20 January until 17 March 2026.

There are two Call for Evidence surveys available:

- One for women and people who have been pregnant to share their own experiences of maternity and neonatal services.

- One for other people to share their experiences supporting someone through pregnancy. This could include fathers, non-birthing partners, family members, friends, or other support people.

You must be aged 16 and over to respond. If you are under 16, you must complete the Call for Evidence with somebody who is 16 or over.

Please do not include any personally identifiable information in the free-text boxes. All experiences will remain anonymised for evidence processing and use in investigation reports and publications. For more details, please refer to their Privacy Notice, which explains that personal information will not be used to identify individuals.

The deadline for responding to the Call for Evidence is 11:59pm on 17 March 2026.

Pregnant women across Stoke-on-Trent are being urged to access vital pregnancy screening, advice and vaccinations through UHNM maternity bus bringing services directly into local communities. 👶🚌🏪

The Maternity and Community Screening Initiative (MACSI) bus aims to make it easier for expectant mothers and their families to access maternity support closer to home without needing to travel to hospital.

The drop-in service offers advice and education on pregnancy, screening and vaccinations, with midwives and specialist teams on hand to answer questions and provide support.

The initiative is designed to reach communities who may find it harder to access traditional services, including those who face barriers such as transport, language or awareness of available support.

👉 There is no need to book an appointment and anyone can drop in while the bus is visiting their local area.

🗣 Rachael Heaven, community midwife, said: “We know that some people in our communities can find it harder to access maternity services, whether that’s due to transport, language barriers or simply not knowing what support is available.

“We thought instead of bringing people to us, we would come to them. By being visible in places people already visit, women can hop onto the bus, get advice about pregnancy, have a vaccination, collect vitamins or simply have a friendly chat about their pregnancy and what to expect.”

Staff on board the MACSI bus can provide advice on pregnancy, screening and healthy lifestyles, as well as information on why it is important for women to access maternity services early in pregnancy. The team can also provide vitamins, advice on healthy eating and safe sleeping and support with screening tests.

Vaccinations are also available during pregnancy to help protect both mother and baby.

🗣 Elaine Hinson, maternity vaccinator at UHNM, said: “There are three key vaccines we offer during pregnancy. The flu vaccine helps protect mums from catching flu, which can cause complications during pregnancy. The whooping cough and RSV vaccines help protect babies after they’re born, as antibodies are passed from mum to baby during pregnancy.”

One mum-to-be to benefit from the service was Anse Hussain who is expecting her first baby.

🗣 The 28-year-old from Cobridge, said: “It’s really easy and convenient because it’s local. It’s a lot easier for me to come here than travelling to Royal Stoke.

“Once you know when the bus is here you can plan around it, and for anyone who lives nearby it’s really helpful. I’d definitely recommend people come along if they see it.”

📆 The bus currently visits several locations across the city each week:

🔵 Hanley Town Centre (12.30pm–4pm)

🔵 Wednesdays: Asda Tunstall, Scotia Road, Tunstall, ST6 6AT (9.30am-4.30pm)

🔵 Thursdays: Pickford Place, Mier (9.30am-4.30pm)

In honor of International Women’s Day,⁣
this is for all the moms.⁣

The moms who question “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?” with hands raised in the air.⁣

The moms who doubt, question, and overthink,⁣
then do it as if it's a natural reflex, even though we're convinced we're doing it awkwardly or not right.⁣

But we dig deep. We figure it out and persevere because that's what strong women do. It’s survival.⁣

So, those women out there doubting the season of motherhood you’re in,⁣
that career change,⁣
or pursuing a passion—𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯.⁣

Because mothers always will,⁣

because we have to,⁣

because we have no other choice,⁣

and we’re stronger than we know.⁣

Think about it,⁣

when we’re in over our heads with a crying newborn up every two to three hours, so exhausted that we need more than a good night’s sleep to catch up, we manage to get up anyway, and we get through. It doesn’t matter how sore our bodies feel or how we have no idea what we’re doing. We feed and love on that baby the best way we know how — 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰.⁣

When we're depressed and our brain feels foggy, we still get out of bed. We get everyone fed and clothed. We bring everyone to where they're supposed to be —𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰.⁣

When our kids are not listening to us since they woke up, we’re shamed at the grocery store for a toddler tantrum and feel like we can’t do any of it anymore — 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰.⁣

So, when you're sitting there questioning, “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?”⁣

Know time and time again has proven, WOMEN CAN and WE WILL.⁣

Because every hard season comes and then goes, and we rise through the hard.⁣

Mothers always persevere,⁣

women always persevere,⁣

𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨.
