As part of Hospice Care Week, please join us for an Open Event at The Mary Stevens Hospice on Wednesday 8th October, and discover more about our In-Patient Unit, Day Services Unit, bereavement services, community engagement, social work, spiritual care, fundraising, lottery, and volunteering. Tours around our bereavement services building, ‘The Lodge’, and Day Services Unit will also be given at 2pm, 2:30pm and 3pm.

Hospice Care Week is an annual campaign led by Hospice UK to raise awareness of the vital role that hospice care takes in supporting people at the end of their lives.

Children Bereavement Sessions help children to understand and express their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. Starting in October, we'll be running a three-session programme which includes:

- An introduction to bereavement
- Exploring emotions
- Looking forward

The first of these sessions is at Brierley Hill Library on Saturday 11th October, 10:30am-12pm. A parent or carer must attend with their child.

On Thursday 4th September, you may see some of our staff in full HAZMAT suits at the Decontamination Unit outside of the Russells Hall Hospital Emergency Department, but do not be alarmed!

We are simply conducting live decontamination training exercises with ED staff between 9am and 4pm on this date. This is an exercise only and not real.

The new school year is the perfect opportunity to focus on road safety and make sure your children know how to cross the road safely.
