Grace is that gift from Life, or the Divine, that arrives without being earned — it’s the unexpected blessings that come our way, like a sudden opportunity or an unseen protection. It’s the favour we receive despite our own efforts, reminding us that not everything is achieved through work alone.

Grace is intimately connected to the essence of the holiday season. As we celebrate the return of the light, we are reminded of how this gift is given freely, year after year, as the sun pauses at the Winter Solstice and slowly begins to bring longer days once again.

The Christian tradition teaches that Love descended at Christmas with the birth of Christ — the light that illuminates the world.

Light, love, and grace together define the true spirit of this time of year.

As the holiday rush and celebrations begin for many of us this week, let’s make space to pause, reflect, and appreciate these qualities.

Let us take a moment to recognize the love and light that fill our lives, and acknowledge the many ways grace touches us.

May we continue to receive the grace that Existence would shower on us with open hearts and remember how to embody it in all our actions.

🎄💕 STAY BALANCED AS THE FESTIVITIES BEGIN 💕🎄

As the social activities step up in the lead up to Christmas and New Year, it can be hard to stay on track with a healthy, balanced diet and our digestive systems can start to suffer for it, can’t they?

It’s good to cut ourselves some slack and join in the festivities, but a little nutritional antidoting can help get us to the other side still feeling well and balanced.

If I know I’ve stretched my digestion, I always give back to it with lighter, cleansing supportive foods and teas the next day.

A day on my Warming Winter Cleanse Soup and seasonal herb teas always puts things right for me.

By the way, it’s not so good to make it a habit to yo-yo back and forth from balanced to challenge with our digestive systems.

Ayurveda would advise us to enjoy the tasty foods and drinks on offer but to keep to smaller amounts of those that we know we will pay the price for.

After all, both good health and disease - of body and often of mind - begin in the gut and we want to make sure that we step into January with resilience as those coughs and colds start to peak, yes?

Let’s make BALANCE our watchword in the weeks ahead.

Three steps to stillness.

In this season of Vata dosha, Nature invites us to rest and pause and yet as Vata dosha rises around and within us, restlessness in its various manifestations - disturbed sleep, more worry and overthinking, nervous system on charge - can have a tendency to increase, especially if we have Vata dosha in our constitutional type (Prakriti).

Here are three simple Ayurveda steps towards greater calm and stillness:

👌Add a 1/2 tsp of ghee to a small glass of warm, boiled water and drink on waking, on an empty stomach. Wait 15 minutes before consuming any other food or liquid. 💕✨💕🙏

👌Oil your body each morning before showering with approximately 20mls warmed cold pressed organic sesame oil. Leave on for 15 mins and stay warm before showering off. This 15 mins would be the perfect time to rest back with the video practice for Vata dosha shared with you above. (Pitta types try sunflower oil, Kapha types = better to oil only a few times per week).
