šŸŽ“ Well done, Dr. Faihaan Ahmed!

We’re so pleased to celebrate Faihaan’s graduation this week with a Master’s in Global Healthcare Management šŸ‘

Faihaan joined us just 18 months ago as a part-time Caregiver at Queensway Court, one of our extra care services in Leamington Spa.

His passion for care was clear from the start, and it wasn’t long before he stepped into a leadership role at Briar Croft in Stratford-upon-Avon, where he now supports residents overnight as part of our Night Owl team.

He brings calm, kindness, and real commitment to everything he does (and somehow managed to complete a Master’s at the same time!)

Faihaan says he’s grateful for the opportunities he’s had with Unique, but we know we’re the lucky ones.

Huge congratulations - we’re so proud of you 🤩

šŸ’¬ ā€œYou’ve made it through your most difficult days and that’s proof of your strength.ā€

As part of Samaritans Awareness Day yesterday, Ben, one of our Mental Health Champions, shared this encouraging message about why well-being is a journey, not something to ā€œachieveā€ all at once.

Every step forward counts. Even asking for help or simply holding onto hope is a form of self-care.

The Knowle and Dorridge Memory Cafe had a brilliant morning last week with a visit from Pop Voices Choir Solihull šŸŽ¶šŸ˜Š

Guests enjoyed a wonderful mix of uplifting songs - there was plenty of smiling, toe-tapping, and even some singing along. Music often sparks memories and connection, especially for those living with dementia šŸ’›

Thank you to the choir for making it such a special session šŸ‘

The cafƩ runs every Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Dorridge Methodist Church.

šŸŽ¶ Little by little… you’ll change someone’s world.

In care, it’s not about grand gestures- it’s about the everyday things:
āœ… A cup of tea made just right.
āœ… A conversation that lifts someone’s mood.
āœ… A steady hand during a tough moment.

These are the little things our Care Assistants do every day and they mean everything.

If you’re kind, reliable, and want to make a difference, join our team.

You don’t need to change the world all at once - just little by little.

Many families don’t realise there are two types of home care - regulated providers and introductory agencies. One family shared how they discovered this the hard way, when the Caregiver who arrived wasn’t even the person the agency thought they’d sent.

This we are celebrating how working in partnership helps us deliver care that truly meets people’s needs.

Our client is 103 and had not been out of bed for over 18 months. Together with the client, her family, our Care Team and physiotherapists, we explored new ways to support her comfort and independence.

With gentle support, she was able to sit upright with her feet to the floor for the first time in more than 18 months. A small achievement that brought real joy and helped guide her future care šŸ’š

This is what co-production means to us. Listening, working together and making the small things count.

šŸŽ‚ Happy 70th Birthday, Valerie!

We had a lovely time last week celebrating Valerie’s 70th birthday. Valerie has been with us for 10 years and has truly made a life out of caring for others.

In this short clip, she talks about what she loves most about being a Caregiver — helping people stay independent and seeing them smile.

People, above all else

Founded on personal experience

Unique Senior Care was founded in 2011, by Philip Wright-Howarth and Philip Maundrill. Both have, at some point, been responsible for a loved one in need of care. At Unique Senior Care we therefore have an intimate understanding of what quality care should look like, and the peace of mind this brings to family members, as well as the person being cared for. This has been a key driver throughout the business’ history and continues to underpin all aspects of the work we do.

What makes us Unique?

It is without doubt the people we care for, our staff and the quality of the services we provide. Every member of our team shares the same ethos of putting ā€˜People, above all else’. We believe that by supporting older people to remain in their own home, we can enable them to live more fulfilling lives, and our care is always tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients. Families will have the peace of mind that their loved ones are in excellent hands. As a result, we have built a reputation as a care company that specialises in one thing: people.
