I RACED AT THE AQUATICS GB SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 🤯🏊‍♀️🩱🇬🇧💙🫣

I cannot believe I just said those words…

A couple of months ago we got asked if we would want to do a 50m relay race at the swimming championships… a crazy opportunity, but how could say no to the chance to help spread the word of how great swimming is as a sport and how much it has changed my life in the last couple of months 🫶

I had never dived in a pool, let alone in front of a crowd of people, never faced anything shorter than a 5km run, never done a swim race - I WAS TERRIFIED 🫣🫣

It was one of those moments where I was so scared, heart pounding out of my chest and I could have just ran away, but honestly ✨IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER DONE✨

Grateful for:
💛swimming as a sport and how much it has been there for me the past few months
💛my body for allowing me to move
💛my incredible race team .culling
💛 for this crazy opportunity
💛beautiful kit from
💛my friends for coming to watch, cheering in the crowd and not taking the p**s out of my dive too much hahahaah
💛being able to watch the elites in action!!!!!

This is your reminder to push yourself out of your comfort zone! You will achieve so much!

Oh and also if you haven’t already, take up swimming as a sport, it’s bloody great, and if you need some inspo, go watch the Championships which are on all week and I will put the link in my story!!

I used to be a doctor up mountains?! ⛰️⛰️⛰️

This feels like a complete past life talking about this but the ogs on here may remember this! As when I started posting on this page it was documenting my expeditions I used to go on as a doctor.

I used to climb Kilimanjaro ⛰️ go to the Arctic 🥶 and even the jungle 🌴 as the doctor to be the expedition doctor.

Which will 10000% be the coolest job I will ever have and it brought me so much to my life. And I will always appreciate how it got me so into adventures and the outdoors and made me fall in love with trail running and hiking.

And through this injury, I have really reflected on why movement was so important for me, not only to do sport, but just allow me to explore the world and see friends and do adventures and of course because it helps my brain as !! ☺️

Grateful to be back out in the mountains and counting down the days until we are back running!

Aren’t you scared of gaining weight?

It seems like sk*nnytok is back, everyone wanting to get leaner or take up running to lose weight. And really we are not seeing the potential future damage this could cost us.

Cos no, I am not scared of gaining weight…

I am scared of what under-fuelling could cost me:
- Osteoporosis
- Loss of a menstrual cycle
- Poor performance
- Reduced libido
- Constant injuries
- Reduced immune system
- Brain fog
- Fatigue

I thought I was fuelling well for my training but what I have learnt since my stress fracture that I still needed to eat sooo much more. People unintentional underfuel all the time, and your body may be able to cope for a period of time but there is the potential for long term changes to your body.

Every time I struggle, I just think of future me.

Fuel for today, fuel for tomorrow, fuel for 50 year old you who still wants to live their life.

You only have one body.

ITS GOOD NEWWWWWSSSS 🥳🎉👏🏃‍♀️💛

16 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a grade 3 bone stress injury in my foot, as well as ‘low energy availability’. Meaning the year has definitely not got off to a good start and has been so heavily focussed around my health.

And it’s been a long journey to get here but hearing my physio say to me I can start doing some plyometrics in the gym and be able to stay walk running next week has meant ITS ALL WORTH IT!

I for sure do not want to rush to return to the sport, or risk another injury, but very grateful we are making small steps… and if you are going through a similar thing, I know it’s tough, but keep going, it’s so worth it!

turns out after a hellish start to the year, a weekend with your best mate in the mountains is enough to reset you and make you feel like yourself again, can confirm active weekends outdoors is what makes me most happy - bring on the rest of the year
