COURTING A WOMAN MEANS being intentional with her.

Freyja is often remembered as the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and desire.

But the myths reveal a woman who understood value in a way few others did.

When the gods sought to build the great walls of Asgard, a mysterious builder offered to complete the impossible task in exchange for an extraordinary payment: the goddess Freyja, along with the sun and the moon.

The gods were willing to bargain her away.

But Freyja did not accept this quietly.

In the stories, she is described as furious at the suggestion. The idea that she could simply be traded like property was an insult not only to her but to her power and identity.

This moment in myth reveals something powerful about Freyja.

She knew her worth.

Not because others recognized it.

But because she did.

Freyja walks through Norse mythology wearing the necklace Brísingamen, a symbol of beauty and power, traveling in a chariot pulled by cats and wearing a falcon cloak that allows her to move between worlds.

She practices powerful seiðr magic and claims half of the fallen warriors in battle for her hall, Fólkvangr.

She is sensual and formidable.

Compassionate and fierce.

And through all of it, she never diminishes herself to fit the expectations of others.

Freyja’s deeper lesson is not simply about love or magic.

It is about self-worth.

She reminds us that confidence does not come from constant approval. It comes from understanding your own value so clearly that you no longer need to negotiate it.

Because once you truly recognize your worth, something shifts.

You stop allowing yourself to be placed in situations where you must prove it.
