The scale isn’t the problem.
The meaning we attach to it is.

Day-to-day weight changes are normal — hydration, food volume, stress, sleep, hormones… all of it plays a role. Yet people let a single number decide their mood, confidence and motivation.

Used properly, bodyweight is just one data point to track long-term trends.

Used emotionally, it creates guilt, stress and false feedback.

If fat loss is the goal, we zoom out:

• strength progression
•Progress photos
• measurements
• how clothes fit
• consistency over weeks, not days

Your weight is a tool.

Not a scorecard.

And definitely not your value.

HYROX #2 ✔️

Huge shoutout to my client Carla, who took on her second HYROX this weekend — this time Pairs.

Relentless effort, smart racing, and exactly the kind of grit you need when things get uncomfortable.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the finish — it’s the work she puts in week in, week out.

Turning up, doing exactly what’s programmed, nailing her weekly gym sessions, attacking the monthly hybrid sessions — even when she sees what’s on the board and questions her life choices 😅 — and giving it her all every single time.

That consistency and buy-in always shows up when it matters 👊

I always ask my clients what their goals are — not just because it helps with programming, but because saying them out loud creates commitment.

When goals stay in your head, they’re easy to ignore. Life gets busy. Motivation fades. What felt important quietly slips down the priority list.
But once you say it out loud? Once someone else knows?

There’s accountability. There’s momentum. There’s that inner nudge that says, “You need to do this".

So I’m doing the same.

These are my goals for this year.

Some are in motion. Some are are going to be pretty hard. But I’m sharing them anyway — because I still believe in practicing what I coach.

Got goals? Don’t keep them to yourself.

I am so grateful for the incredible year I’ve had. Somehow, again and again, the bar just keeps getting raised. I’m surrounded by so many wonderful people, and I can’t express enough love for those who made my year so special.

2025 was the year of epic trips. Did I mention I went to Japan? Seeing one of my friends get married in Thailand, plus trips to Graspop Metal Meeting and Budapest with my brothers, made it a year to remember. Marrakech with my mum earlier in the year — what a place. Getting up at 3:30am will never be more worth it than hot air ballooning over the desert at sunrise.

And while my football team continues to bring me misery, I’ve still had some great nights with my dad at Old Trafford.

It was also a year of raising the bar for FeelGood Coaching. We held our first social event, which was fantastic. Next year, we’re upping the bar even further.

Thanks to everyone who made 2025 such an unreal year.

Today marks 4 years since I left the GMC.

Tom - 10 week progress photos

Tom started with me in July and hit the ground running. We put a plan in place to get some quick results and get him feeling back on top of his health and fitness, before shifting our focus towards performance and sport-specific goals.

These photos are just 10 weeks apart — even with two weeks pretty much out of action battling a chest infection. He’s an extremely hard-working guy and genuinely a pleasure to have as a client.
