🐴Does your horse feel blocked, have shortened steps, feel heavy & disconnected, with loss of rhythm?

Did you know that if your horse’s hind end feels blocked, then it is quite likely it’s due to the neck being braced.
In this instance when the neck is braced, the whole muscular system can be prevented from working correctly, you will find:
-The base of the neck cannot lift effectively
-The back cannot therefore swing freely
-The hind leg cannot step fully under
This then leads to those feelings of being blocked, shortened steps, heavy and disconnected in the hand, & loss of rhythm.
Whilst being consistent with exercises to push through from the hind end can be beneficial it will not fully open the blockage at the front end.
True engagement requires the whole body, front to back to be soft, not simply by driving the hind leg forward.

I find a lot of the horses I treat have some amount of blocked, stiffness & tightness to the neck muscles, after treatments they feel freer, softer, and more rhythmical, also taking the contact better.

One of my larger clients having a lovely session and loosening all his neck and shoulder off with the Hofmag large loop around his neck.

For horses happy to have the loop around the neck means I can treat a much larger area in one go, this client is really starting to enjoy his treatments and relaxes right into it which is just what I love to see
