Lia's Art for Wellbeing
This statement is so true and it’s what I try to teach in my art for well-being classes. It’s not about the finished piece but the process and the fact it shifts your focus and it really is good for you.
Art for Wellbeing classes coming up:
🖌🎨Monday 13th April 11-12.30 Lounge&Garden Bury St Edmunds- all materials and guidance provided £12 a class.

🖌🎨Art for Well-being Tuesdays- Tuesday 14th April 10 till 12 Esquires Coffee Sudbury- all materials and guidance provided £12 a class (held every Tuesday unless otherwise specified).
We will be using gelli plates and acrylics to make experimental prints.
🖌🎨Art for Wellbeing monthly Saturdays- Saturday 25th April- Painting flowers workshop part 2. 10 till 12 The Christopher Centre Sudbury. all materials, guidance and refreshments provided £22.50
A gentle part guided workshop using watercolours and fineliner pens.

You don’t have to be “good at art” for it to be good for you.
And I think this is where most people get it wrong.
They assume creativity only “counts” if they have something to show for it.
If they’re not “naturally talented”, then why even bother?
But that turns it into something else entirely.
Another place to perform.
Another place to evaluate yourself.
And that’s not what this is for.
Creating (especially with something as tactile as soft pastel) does something different.
It slows your mind down.
It gives your attention somewhere to land.
It lets something move through you instead of constantly taking things in.
That’s why I think creativity is one of the most underutilized forms of wellness!
Creating gives back to you in ways that will change everything.
