Charlotte's Wood is a small, tranquil woodland in north Suffolk. Stay in luxury holiday lodges, experience Forest School fun or learn how to Nordic Walk

Charlotte's Wood provides a beautiful setting for a range of outdoor activities for children, parents, schools, holiday makers and anyone who wants to experience the therapeutic benefits of spending more time, being active outdoors. Charlotte is a qualified Forest School leader and trainer who runs Forest School sessions, parent and toddler activities and holiday clubs. For adults, Charlotte runs Forest School leader training and Nordic Walking courses as well as Woodland Well-being sessions and team building days. Come for the day or come stay in one of the luxury lodges on the edge of our private woodland, and discover this hidden gem in the heart of East Anglia.

Yesterday’s outdoor food safety course was a m blend of theory, hands-on learning and real campfire cooking. We used active learning approaches to help the essential food safety knowledge stick, then put it straight into practice as everyone prepared a meal together over the fire 🔥

The weather certainly tested us 🌧️ yet everyone rose to the challenge with enthusiasm. The group showed the resilience that sits at the heart of successful Forest School and proved that learning outdoors can be fun, engaging and highly practical even in less-than-ideal conditions.

If you’re a Forest School leader, scout leader or anyone who cooks for groups outdoors, this course will give you the confidence and skills to prepare, cook and serve food safely in the great outdoors 🌲

Such a lovely get together of Suffolk Forest School friends at the woodland today. Thanks to everyone who came, helped, shared and joined in – from those who brought woodland games to Santana’s energising Mind, Body and Soul Qigong Disco. It was so good to connect, play and have fun together.

🌿 Stage 8 of our Suffolk Coast Path Nordic Health Walk today – stunning coastal views, good company and plenty of fresh air!
Our final stage takes place on 16 December, from Felixstowe Ferry to Landguard Point – everyone’s welcome to join.

🍁 Joyful autumn play at Little Woodies today!
Children (and parents!) delighted in the simple pleasures of the season – diving into a giant leaf pile, racing along the woodland path and exploring textures through sand, water and the mud kitchen.

Day 2 of our Wild Wood Holiday Club – what a fantastic couple of days of woodland adventure! 🍁
From reading in trees and chatting in hammocks to crafting autumn treasure pouches and whittling tiny mice, spears and butter knives – there’s been so much creativity and connection in the woods. We even finished with baked apples by the campfire. 🍎✨That’s our last holiday club of 2025! The next one will be in February 2026 – register your interest now (booking link in bio)

Day 1 of our Wild Wood Holiday Club has been all about apples! 🍎
From picking and washing to coring, cutting, mashing and pressing, we made our own delicious apple juice together. Such a joyful, hands-on way to celebrate the season and all that nature provides. 🌿

This week at Little Woodies we’ll be celebrating Apple Day – one of our favourite autumn traditions.
