Practicing gratitude is a superpower for children 🌿

Research shows that gratitude can:
🌟 Boost mood and resilience
🌟 Build self-esteem
🌟 Help children notice the positives, even on tough days

That’s why we weave gratitude into our Magic Elephant Sessions – whether it’s through drawing, sharing, or simply pausing to notice the beauty around us. 🌿✨

Gratitude helps children develop a positive mindset and tools they can carry with them for life. And as you can see, they’re pretty amazing at it already 💕

Half Term Fun 🌳🧘🏻‍♀️🦋

We have enjoyed being at the community allotment during the half term; delivering mini mindfulness sessions for the children in the community.

These sessions are fun, relaxed and engaging. Children are invited to explore different breathing exercises and given the opportunity to express their feelings using and through creative activities.

Founder Shannon McBride ran the session and said "we create a safe space for children to tune into their feelings and emotions in a healthy way and begin to build a solid foundation of emotional and mental well-being - a skill for life".

We are excited for our upcoming sessions at the community allotment as well as other sessions that will be launching in the coming months.

Our sessions are run by experienced and qualified professionals, designed to be fun and relaxing - helping children to build confidence, express themselves.

During the session they will learn tools and techniques for managing stress, anger & anxiety. These are key life skills that will help support them now and in their future.

The sessions also include crafts, creative activities, time to relax and an opportunity to build friendships.

We keep the group size small to ensure it's not overwhelming for the children and this allows us to create a safe and calm environment, within the peaceful allotment surroundings 🌳

The feedback from parents & children has been excellent ✨

🌿 Magic Elephant Allotment Sessions – This Week 🌿

Last week, the children explored calming crafts and experienced the magical sounds of our therapeutic sound bowls — a moment of stillness in nature designed to ease anxiety and support emotional regulation.

This week, we’ll continue creating a space where children can relax, connect, and recharge through: ✨ Gentle mindfulness activities
✨ Nature-based crafts
✨ Grounding techniques
✨ Group connection in a safe, supportive environment

These sessions are ideal for children who experience anxiety, overwhelm, or difficulty with emotional regulation, or those who want to build confidence and make new friends.

Time in nature, paired with simple wellbeing practices, can help build confidence, improve focus, and support long-term emotional resilience.

🌱✨ Allotment Magic ✨🌱 .elephant.ltd

Last week’s Allotment Session was full of grounding, laughter, and gorgeous sunshine ☀️

We explored sound bowls in new ways — not just hearing the vibrations but feeling them with our feet and leaves 🍃 The children were fascinated by how sound travels through the body, creating a sense of calm from the inside out. ✨ Did you know sound healing has been used for thousands of years to help regulate the nervous system and bring the body back into balance?

We also practiced a 3-minute meditation challenge — and the kids said it was easy and relaxing 🧘‍♀️💛 We did some mood card check-ins, mindful colouring, and spent time just being in nature.

Nature has a powerful way of grounding us, calming our minds and lifting our spirits. 🌼 Studies show that even just a short time outside can reduce anxiety, boost mood, and improve focus — and we see it every week here.

Each week, we guide children through simple, grounding practices — like breathwork, movement, quiet reflection, and connecting with nature — that gently support their emotional well-being.

At Magic Elephant, we run small-group wellbeing sessions within schools, often supporting children experiencing emotional overwhelm, dysregulation, or challenging behaviour. These sessions are led by a qualified children's social worker and mindfulness practitioner, blending trauma-informed pastoral care with grounding mindfulness practices.

🌱 This is early help.
🌱 This is prevention.
🌱 This is mental health support that works.

Children learn to name and understand their emotions, build tools to regulate and express themselves, and feel safe enough to begin healing — long before things reach crisis point.
