This week, we celebrated the final session of our emotional wellbeing 6 week programme, in partnership with Surrey Care Trust & Spelthrone Family Centres 🙌

We are so proud of all the young people who attended & we are looking forward to our next group after Easter 🐣

We are also grateful to the parent who gave us a card at the end to thank us ✨️

This 6 week programme focused on helping young people explore feelings, build self-confidence, understand & express emotions, learn coping strategies, build communication skills, and build a growth mindset 🧠🌱

Primary school mindfulness workshop 🌱🧠

We practised a Box Breathing technique with a Year 3 class, with some students coming to the front to guide the class through the exercise.

When children become part of the process, it becomes so much more engaging & empowering 🙌

Letting students lead builds confidence, keeps the whole class involved, and helps them really remember the skill.

Breathing together also creates a shared moment of calm in the classroom, learning together a simple tool for when they feel overwhelmed.

Small moments like this can make a big difference to how children understand and manage their emotions.

1:1 emotional wellbeing support ✨️

When we work 1:1 with our young people, we first and foremost build trust and a strong rapport, so they feel calm and comfortable in session.

We teach them communication skills to enable them to express feelings, thoughts, concerns, and wishes

Then, we give them the tools to boost their confidence, build a strong mindset, become resilient, and educate on how to take care of their mental + emotional wellbeing.

Our support can be delivered in the home, school, or out in the community - today's session was in a private pod in the local library.

We offer a free 15-minute get to know you session online with no commitment to sign up

We then deliver tailored support either one off, pay as you go, or in a package

Magic Elephant Ltd School Mindfulness Workshop 🌱

The teachers enjoyed the activities we provided for the children during the workshops. All of our activities are engaging - as well as educational so children can learn key life skills for their wellbeing while having fun.

The teachers recognised the engagement in the class, which was inclusive of SEN students ✔️

And they felt calm & relaxed - which is so important for teachers, most of the teachers we speak to are so stressed.

We also asked what can be added or improved so that we can constantly improve our sessions to make them of the highest quality possible 🙌

We love doing session outside in nature, fresh air, sunshine and good vibes ✨️

Today's teen session we used to explore how the week has gone, the young person shared their highs and lows before doing a creative activity.

We ended the session with a short meditation practice

How do you feel when you get bored?

This is one of the questions that came up today during our youth wellbeing session.

It was a great question to explore as a group, some of the answers were:

● It makes me think of my bad thoughts
● It feels like I have been bored my whole existence
● I don't like it - need to be doing something
● Feels like my life is falling apart
● I start thinking of things to do

We were really impressed with how open and honest the young people were, their contributions allowed for a great chat about

● mindfulness
● the brain & the nervous system
● uncomfortable feelings

Feedback from our youth session 😊🌱

Often, when our young people come to the sessions for the first time, they are very anxious, this feedback was from a young girl who came to the door upset, very nervous, and didn't want to come in.

After a short while of watching the session, she gradually joined us, and by the end, she was happily involved in the activity and discussion.

Her feedback of feeling worried before and happy after is so lovely to read ✨️
