Intensive Addiction Therapy

Intensive Addiction Therapy Intensive Addiction Therapy™ is an effective personalised treatment programme for anyone seeking to overcome any kind of addiction. Hi. My name is Helen Logan.

My unique Intensive Addiction Therapy programme is the product of many years of experience working with clients seeking to overcome one or more addictions. I work with you on an intensive, individual out-patient basis – so you continue to live at home, and engage in your normal activities. Our contact takes place around this, so there is a minimum of disruption to your life. IAT will help you to …

Develop a real understanding of all the factors that contributed to the onset and progression of your addiction problem. Have a clear picture of your ‘triggers’ – the places, people, things, and feelings that precipitate or exacerbate addictive substance use or behaviour. Understand yourself better so you can begin to predict difficulties or dangers before they happen and take action to protect yourself. Learn a range of skills, techniques and exercises that will help to minimise the risk of relapse and help you progress in your recovery. Resolve other issues (perhaps to do with work, relationships, or managing situations or feelings) that might be affecting your life and limiting your potential. I work with people around London, Surrey, Sussex and parts of Kent.

Recovering from addiction can be really tough on your own. And statistically speaking, those who attempt to overcome an addiction without any outside help have lower success rates.

It's vital to have strategies and tools in place and an experienced other who understands the pitfalls, and who can guide and cheerlead.

I developed my IAT programme after many years of working with addicts. I know what works and doesn't work. It requires consistent work and open honesty, but if you have the will the stop, then I can help.

A short story about recovery.

Chapter 1

I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost … I am hopeless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I'm in the same place. But it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in … it’s a habit. My eyes are open. I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

Chapter 4

I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Chapter 5

I walk down another street.
