Long overdue but brilliant news!
This has been a huge issue for many of our clients recently so now the LA can be held to account on behalf of these children who just want to go to school with the right support.

In a landmark judgment issued today (8 March 2022) the High Court has made it clear that every local council must keep to fixed legal time limits when reviewing...

We are modeling behaviour and communication all the time to children…ask yourself if what you are doing and saying is what you want a child to learn?

The confusing and complicated world of EHCP’s explained….

⁉️⁉️A parent today reminded me that things that I understand and take for granted with regards to Special Educational Needs might never have been explained and knowing about them can be really empowering. So my next few posts will be explaining key things you may want to know if you have a child with additional needs.⁉️⁉️

EHCP - a statement that describes the child, what you wish for them, what support you feel they need and how others can be helping them reach their potential. It is issued by the Local Authority but can be applied for by a setting or by a parent. A panel of professionals will look at the application and decide whether the child meets their criteria for extra funding. It's a difficult and long process to go through but can be really beneficial if the child needs extra support.

Teaching all children emotional intelligence is something I feel very strongly about 😊

Kids learn to be emotionally intelligent by being treated with respect and kindness.

A child who grows up to be an adult with high emotional intelligence (EQ) will have stronger relationships with others and will be more likely to live up to their highest potential.

Parents can help model this behavior by being fully present and practicing empathy towards their child. The key is to put yourself in your child’s shoes. Empathize and understand before you problem solve or give advice.

Learn more about how to communicate empathy and understanding towards your child when you sign up for Emotion Coaching online. Receive 10% off on the workshop when you use the code EC10SOCIAL: https://bit.ly/3fSRoHO
