"Can you get rid of fungal nails"? 🤷♀️
Realistically, there is no immediate cure for treating fungal nails, but, after a full assessment and a very accurate test to determine if you do indeed have fungal nails, there are often ways in which fungal nails can be managed or treated, and some people are lucky enough to regain healthy nail growth with time, patients and a real commitment to treatment 🤩👍.
👉 Here are a few things you may want to consider before making an appointment.
Why do you want the fungal nail(s) treated?
Is it because you find them unsightly or, are they causing you pain and discomfort? There is no right or wrong answer here, it just gives your practitioner an idea of how the nail(s) could be managed.
The NICE guidelines suggest that if a fungal nail is not causing you any pain or discomfort, that is a good reason not to treat it. Conversely, the same guidelines suggested, if you want the nail treated simply because you don't like to look of it, that is a good enough reason to treat it.
Knowing why you want it treated will enable an individual treatment plan tailored to you 🫵
Ask yourself these questions....
🫣 How committed will I be at keeping up treatments? 🤔 It's so easy to get bored of a regular routine and skip treatments 😴. It can take weeks or months to see any new nail growth.
🫣 How committed will I be at keeping up my appointments? 🤔 Having a treatment plan monitored for the desired outcome can be time consuming, not to mention costly 🕰💰.
🫣 Lastly, and only you can answer this one, how much do I really want my fungal nail confirmed, resolved or managed? 🤔
