🌹 Remembrance Day – 11:11
At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, we stop.
For two minutes, the world falls still — sirens fade, engines quiet, voices hush — and in that silence, we remember.
As an Emergency Medical Technician in the ambulance service, I’m reminded that courage doesn’t always wear the same uniform. Whether on the battlefield or in the back of an ambulance, service is born from the same heart — the will to protect others, even when it costs us.
Today, as the clock strikes eleven, I think of those who ran toward danger so others might live. Of the medics who tended the wounded in the mud and smoke of war. Of those who never came home, and those who did — carrying invisible scars.
Their bravery echoes in every act of service we perform today — in every call answered, every life saved, every silent moment held for those who gave everything.
We will remember them.
We must remember them.

🕊️ Poem: “The Silence Between Sirens”
In the hush between the sirens,
Where breath and memory meet,
We stand in still reflection,
On poppy fields and streets.
The fallen whisper softly,
Through static, rain, and flame,
“Hold fast to love and kindness —
And say aloud our names.”
We walk where they once hurried,
To battle or to save,
Different wars, one purpose,
To serve, to heal, to brave.
And when the silence settles,
At the hour marked eleven,
Their spirits stand beside us still,
Our heroes — home in heaven.

At 11:11, take a breath. Remember. Honour. Continue the service they began.
We will remember them. 🌹
