Over the past few weeks, our clients have been lucky enough to be guided through some art sessions in the place of our usual walking group. These have seen fab uptake from clients, even clients we don’t often see at our walking group! 👏

For us at Empower, this signifies our ongoing commitment to our clients and their wellbeing but also the commitment to creating a therapeutic, positive environment for them to regain their confidence and independence in the community.

Thrive at Home is THRIVING and growing rapidly at the moment, but we will always ensure to provide the highest quality person centred support to our clients.

SUPPORT WORKER > MENTAL HEALTH NURSE.
As a team we would like to congratulate and celebrate who got her nursing PIN today and will be spreading her wings to go off and work in the NHS and an RMN.
We are so proud of Maddison who first joined our team aged 18 three years ago at the start of her mental health nursing degree.
Maddison, is a joy and will be missed by staff and clients alike. Her ability to make you feel at ease, CHAT, and build rapport is second to none. She is endlessly kind and generous and if often laden with cans of pop and sweet treats for all 👀 and will make a wonderful nurse.
A note from Em our director "I worked with Maddison when I was just 18 myself... and she was 3! I was on placement in her nursery class, interviewing her for this position made me feel very old! It's been lush to work alongside Maddi and I hope our paths cross again in tbe furtue. Good luck in all you do you will be fantastic!"

As we bring our final residents out of hospital and home to Hiraeth House we are excited to add to our senior staffing team.

Hiraeth House operates on a high relational staffing ratio policy which increases as resident come home to us. This ensures that they recieve the bespoke 1:1 specialist support, input and time they need with highly trained staff.
As we are now fully staffed with an incredible team of support workers, led by an RMN manager we are looking to expand our leadership team by introducing a brand new role in the service, a senior support worker.
This fresh, exciting opportunity will give the right candidate access to a coaching programme to develop leadership and management skills with a supportive team of directors and management teams from our other services as support.

ABOVE AND BEYOND...
It's feedback we get alot from clients, families and professionals that we as a company and staff individually go "above and beyond" our duty of care.
This week we have absolutely witnessed this, multiple times.
Staff have gone literally miles out of their way to help our clients, to advocate for them, to ensure they're safe, to make noise about their needs being met, to make sure they're healthy and getting the treatment they need, to ensure they're being treated fairly and with dignity.
"You're all angels" is feedback we have from a family member this week.... In our opinion we are just showing our clients the levels of care they should expect.
We are working within an understaffed, underfunded, overstretched health and social care system. A system that's particularly difficult to access and navigate if you have additional mental health needs, a precursor to many social and health inequalities. So, we will always support our clients in their times of need, when they need us most, reassue them in their darkest hours with a friendly face, kind words, some cheeky treats, good humour and an unwavering level of care and respect!
As one of our clients put it this week when they self presented at our premises out of hours in a time of desperate need.... "I don't know what to do, but i know Empower will always help me" ... and we will.
Our staff are a living embodiment of our values....they truly, deeply care.
