Last Friday battling with bags a shopping trolley,a bus and a trip to Tesco’s I lost my lovely warm hat. I checked with the bus company also customer services at Tesco’s but to no avail.... today Monday I did some shopping in Tesco’s and as I was waiting at the checkout I just happened to glance at the next checkout and to my amazement my eyes fell upon .. yes my grey hat!!! Despite all the hundreds of panic buying customers all over the weekend, this little hat remained seemingly unnoticed until I arrived and “ just happened “ to be at the next checkout three days later to spot it..... a coincidence? No... I’m sure it was God’s way to catch my attention and say in His awesome loving kindness.. Sue..I even care about the hat you lost!
It reminded me of this scripture
Matthew 6:25-34 New International Version (NIV)

Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life.

How apt as I approach a time of indefinite social separation and self isolation.. how can I ever be alone with a God who cares about every single thing that bothers me...

His loving kindness is all we will every need for He cares about every hair on our head.

It never ceases to amaze me how drops of water hang so precariously as they glisten in the sun . it’s a bit like our life with God. So often we think we are at balancing on the end of our circumstances, and then God comes in and scoops us up and we remember we are completely safe in Him.

Reflection...This morning as the sun is raising amongst the heavy rain clouds the scene captured my mind.... the reflection bounced off the window of an outbuilding in the garden reflecting the sunrise through the blinds the doors, almost like barriers to the light yet it beamed through highlighting the cheerful bunting bringing hope of this new day.
I just love this chorus of an old hymn:
“Great it Thy faithfulness.Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.”

As I prepare to say Au Revoir to lovely Jersey. I took these pictures of the Sunflowers on the seafront. The picture with the gorilla showed half dead uninteresting flowers, but taken from an other angle we see the splendour of the sunflowers.. Isn’t that just like our life.. the world and all the stress and strain it can bring takes out the beauty around us. If we, like the sunflowers turn to face the sun /Son to blossom.. life becomes beautiful again .🌻🌻🌻

We can take so much for granted. As I enjoy being in Jersey once again I am continually thankful for the health and energy God gives me. Each day is to be treasured as a gift.it saddens my heart when I think about my many friends who are unable to enjoy creation because of their ill health. Let us give thanks for every minute He grants us.

It’s a while since I wrote...I’m sorry, it was my intention to write something maybe weekly..then the time just flies by.

On Friday we visited the Botanical Gardens. The sun shone and the beauty of the flowers were intoxicating. I was filled with awe at the way the Master Creator had designed these amazing flowers for us to enjoy..The nature of our awesome God never ceases to fill me with wonder...

St David’s day ..the beautiful Daffodil is our emblem.

These daffodils have fended for themselves after being thrown out onto waste ground. Despite not being planted they have found soil to nurture their roots and grow into fine flowers.

Isn’t that a bit like our lives from time to time.

Disappointments, discouragements often make us feel on a scrap heap and uncared for. Yet because we have a loving Father,He reaches down to us, loves and comforts us and places hope again in our hearts...

He says He will never leave us nor forsake us so allow your lives to flower with His hope restoring your joy once again.

John 15 New International Version (NIV)

I have a beautiful Orange tree that for the last few years has decided to give me lemons as well!! I took a lemon from the tree last week and left it on the counter and noticed how quick the skin started to get dry and change colour then this verse came to mind... a really good illustration in reality!

The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

This beautiful sunrise greeted me this morning... the day filled with many folk struggling with health issues and sadness but it was not bleak.. for there is always hope out of the darkest circumstances... never give up.. keep looking forward and the light will shine again...

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about a grateful heart. 💓

We are bombarded from the media with ‘must haves”. Very quickly we can get caught up with materialism and begin to feel discontented and find ourselves disgruntled & dissatisfied.

The antidote surely must be a grateful heart. As we trust God and see all that He provides for us we find our hearts and minds are filled with His amazing gift of thankfulness despite and because of our circumstances and situations.

I reflect on the paths I’m privileged to walk each day in my daily life and I’m filled with gratitude for my health, for the joy He fills my days with and the most amazing friends that I have been given!

May you all be granted the gift of gratefulness in this coming New Year

Love in Jesus,

Sue (shalom4)
