This World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re reminding every parent and carer that your life matters, and there is help available.

For many new and expectant parents, perinatal mental health challenges can feel overwhelming. Feelings of hopelessness, isolation, and despair can be part of this journey and for some, thoughts of su***de may emerge.

At PANDAS, we want you to know, you are not alone. Reaching out for support can feel like the hardest step, but it can also be the most important. ❀️

If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts or concerned about someone, please know that there are incredible charities who specialise in supporting people at risk, such as Grassroots Su***de Prevention and Samaritans. They offer su***de prevention resources, through their their Stay Alive app.

At PANDAS, our trained volunteers are also here to listen and support parents experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties through our helpline, email, and online groups.

Talking saves lives and reaching out is a strength. ❀️

We know that every parent’s journey is unique and that for neurodivergent parents and carers, pregnancy and early parenthood can bring additional challenges.

That’s why we’re so pleased to have partnered with Neurodivergent Birth CIC to create a, free, online resource.

This guide has been designed to:
- Help you understand your rights and what reasonable adjustments look like
- Support you in advocating for your needs with healthcare professionals
- Offer practical strategies around sensory and executive functioning challenges
- Provide validation and recognition for your experiences

As our CEO Annie says:
β€œToo many neurodivergent parents are navigating a β€˜one size fits all’ model in healthcare. This resource is a step toward changing that β€” and ensuring every parent is supported in the way they need.” ❀️

Download the resource for free through the link in the first comment below ⬇️

Let’s make parenthood more inclusive, together.

This month, we'll be sharing gentle accessible ideas for looking after your mental wellbeing.
Let's start small. You deserve it.
